Honestly my champs are not too strong. If you take off all your gear that you find, and don't use blizzard or fireball it's more balanced. Of course one of the main problems is monster stacks dont' seem to, and Armies definatlly do not have any levels. When a level 20 champ goes against an army, and the army is level 1? Yea, they SHOULD be destroyed. What would help the balance issue is make it so armies can be made above level 1 and

Here is something that might join together a lot of what everyone is seems to be looking for. First, The turns are not exactly At the Same time.. Let me explain! We'll go back to everyone takes their turns in order. (how it picks order can be fleshed out later.) On your turn while you have time left you can move units, research, cast spells ect. All pretty basic stuff. Now when you end your turn is where it get's different. All your c
Yea! Beta is around the corner. And I like how we're still getting tidbits! Yea! So now I'm half excited and half terrified of Beta comming... Guess I should notify my next of kin that if I'm not heard from in days... to send in a swat team with pizza and fizzy drinks! [e digicons]O:)[/e] Rawr! [e digicons]:bebi:[/e]
I think Solam is Implying Torture isn't so bad anymore... You get used to it? [e digicons]}:)[/e]
I just hope that because they are starting Alpha/Beta they keep putting out tidbits! I always hate when other games start the testing process with live testers and you can tell because suddenly the little tibdits stop! And we starve! [e digicons][/e] Whoever Get's into the Alpha, Break it good! Means a better game for when they go into Open Beta! *whispering* They are still planing on an open Beta for people who have pre-ordered right? *c
I think some people get the magic and Essence confused, They are related but not the same thing =) Essense is for VERY powerful spells that are world shattering in their scope. Making land able to have a city built on it. Hero's. That's all I've seen from the Dev's so far (might of missed something). magic is for everything else. Heck when you spend essence you might have to spend mana too! For undead armies I'd love
But how do you kill the evil people if you're against using your own living people to do it? It has to start somewhere! Besides, necromancy in itself is typically considered an evil act, since it's supposed to bind the soul and not give it eternal rest and all that mumbo jumbo
Oh, I'm not against using living people to kill the bad guys. Also don't forget you can kill bad guys with magic
Can't make undeaders out of thin air though, so a whole mess of people have to die first!
Yes, but who says they have to be YOUR people who die? You could always use the bodies of your enemies for the undead army as their punishment for being evil! (your good! duh! And anyone who says otherwise is obviously evil....) See? Easy to do!
Quoting foxfire1234, reply 3Don't have Demigod, but I got the rest coverd! For those of us that don't make it... Please keep the tidbits comming! And for those of us that DO make it. Give good feedback so it becomes a game we can all love! I don't know how many thousands of hours I lost to playing Master of Magic or Civilization for just one more turn.... <br /

Gal Civ II? check, Sins and entrenchment? Check, Demigod? Meh! Not my thing =) Elemental pre-order? Check! [e digicons]:bebi:[/e] Sorry to see that the bot's are going to go, You seemed to like them a lot. As long as we have some type of AI to play against that's good then I'll be happy. Gal Civ II and Sins AI's are really good so I have faith [e digicons][/e] Any idea on how the simplification
A great magic system will really make this game unique. What I loved about Masters of Magic was the spells! I just hope we have a way to modify how much Essence you start with. So I could go for a really over the top high magic game if I feel like it or go for low magic if I feel like that. If not then guess it will be Modding time! *adjusts halo* Can't wait for Beta! [e digicons]:bebi:[/e] Keep up the great work!
Hi, I work for my local ISP and we actualy have been doing this for YEARS. Everyone seems to be panic'ing here but this is how it REALLY works if they follow our model. First internet prices will DROP! yes, that's right, they will go down. Or they might just freeze prices where they are for a while. Why you ask? Say you have 10,000 subscribers who use internet. You have to raise the prices for these people for say 20 people who are us
Yea! Thanks for the rough timeline. I'd assumed since the forums had gotten quieter that I missed the Beta 0 already =) Glad to know I still got a chance! I probably spend more time modding Sin's than actually playing it! So this should be right up my alley [e digicons]:bebi:[/e]
/comfort Landisaurus I'm sure your fire slugs will be just fine. But you have to admit they are not quite as good as the Bear Calvery! [e digicons]:bebi:[/e] Rawr!
I'm in total agreement with working on the features and gameplay vs eye candy. A cloth style map wouldnt' bother me at all. Eye candy is nice and all but Other than a few minutes of going "ooh, ahhh" I don't pay it any attention. Just as long as I can figure out what is going on! Gameplay and the game itself is what's really important. I'd love to help beta test (shameless plug) and I've already pre-ordered! *adjusts halo* </p
Yes, Population control is nice. Most games force me to do it with my buildings and general upkeep to keep population growth down. Or I have to focus on building the infrastructure to Support the population they are growing too. Even something we could do to half our growth to keep it more managable. Especialy since we can turn population into troops! And being one of those nice leaders I'd not like an army of cannon fodder either... Unless I was desperate!</
I also agree that declaring war shouldn't lower how Trustworthy you are. They may hate you for it though! However if you sneak attack them by attaking within X turns of declaring war or just attacking without declaring then that should lower your reputation on being trustworthy. Though declaring war on an ally would be different. You should have broken the alliance and then declared war after a set amount of turns. I agree it shouldn't use global values,
Wow! A lot of good ideas everyone! Sounds like i'm not the only one who's always felt cheated or let down by the diplomacy options available. @ Greatvolk: You deffinatly bring in several good points. Assist in battle or declaring war on a 3rd party. The Trustworthness should be majorly affected. Heck, might even open up a diplomacy option of "Where are the troops you promised?!" So if AI blue promised troops then never sent any then you know not t
A reputation for Victory would also be really nice. That could easily be something seperate the AI keeps an eye on. Do you REALLY want to team up with someone who looses all the time? [e digicons]B)[/e] So Ai could have stats for how much they like/dislike you based on past actions and competition for resources, Honor for how trustworthy you are and Valor, your ability to win the conflicts you get into vs your losses.
Oh yes, I'm in too! [e digicons]:bebi:[/e] I've loved thier other games and just the tidbits they have given out I'm going to love this one too!
Didn't really see a thread dealing with this directly so I thought I'd make one! This is dealing mostly with the AI as players given some basic tools and the ability to chat with each other (private chat of course, can't let those bear riding bearbarians know about your new war elephants!) can do the diplomacy thing naturally. I did find a good thread on options they'd like to see for dealing inside an alliance. https://forums.elementalgame.com/335521 Most
Hrm, Why don't we combine both? Have there be artifacts you can find/gain somehow and those allow you to build a Wonder. One of a kind, Gives a kingdom bonus of sometype depending on the type. Also if spells are researched seperatly somehow (loved this in MOM) from research techs some of these might instead of being magic, be instructions on how to build the artifact needed for a Wonder. Also alow Superprojects, Have it so first one bu
Well the "Espianage system" Could be you have some units raiding thier caravans and go "Uh oh, why is he moving all these mithril swords... OH NO!" type of situation [e digicons]}:)[/e]
How the economics are built can be quite important, A few things I'd like to see. [e digicons]B)[/e] I would like to be able to micro manage where supplies go, while simutaniously it will be made to keep it where people who don't like to do this can still have fun. A tough challenge but there are ways! Basicly each town will need to have a warehouse interface of sometype. -Make the warehouse sortable and mabye even add templates
