i stopped reading after "its 2010, so either make an intro like blizzard, or none at all". personally i thought the intro and art style was awesome and totally fit the setting.

i second this thread. if civ can do it, so should this. it definately was one of the major purchasing points for me, the promise of essentially unlimited replayability. wont add more to this discussion but my support.

umm that IS very disappointing. im surprised this wasnt made clear to us (or maybe not that surprised). uuughhh, random map stuff was one of the main features that differentiated these games (along with civ) from the typical world map of total war, paradox games etc.
to each his own. im more a sword guy than a magic fan. but if someone would have asked me, i'd have said maybe 20 spells. 60 sounds like A LOT to a nub like me.
thanks guys, you are absolutely correct! very helpful [e digicons]:D[/e]
hi guys, i'm playing the campaign at the moment to learn how to play. as one of the first steps i visit the merchant and buy stuff. in the merchant menu, everything looks ok. when i buy the boots or whatever, on the right tab it shows them in my inventory. but when i leave the merchant screen, none of my characters have the boots, but my money is gone. can someone help me out? thanks for any comments.
i have only gotten a confirmation email of my order in march 2009 (time i preordered). checking my bank statements, i can see i was charged september 2009, but havent received an email as far as i can tell. im cautiously optimistic that it'll work
anyone who gives Deus Ex a sub 50% score on a review, shouldnt be in the business of reviewing games.
i agree, forests are always fun.
Thanks alot bagglewag25t, this realy sounds way better. but wouldnt this mean even more city spamm? i mean to get it all, you need to build citys everywhere, so you can get all bonus for yourself?!
i guess theoretically, but as stated in the points this leads to land squirmishes for control thus forcing you to confront potential enemies and fight them for desired resources instead of hiding
@darkreaver: here is my summary from the video (this is almost a word for word transcript): Area of control matters a lot – you can build on anything in your area of control. Your cities, other than a handful of early basic thing (like arcane lab) don’t generate your own research/money etc. Rather they improve on what resources you have. Ex) you have a gold mine and that is then magnified by your markets etc If you want tech knowledge y
Randomization vs. Richness: Random!
i remember in one of the earliest betas there seemed to be more frequent and varied music. i distinctly remember being impressed by the melancholy medieval music pieces present. now it seems that i hear primarily wind sounds and very quiet music sometimes. your composer did a great job with the music in the game. i wanna hear more of it. make it louder, more varied, and frequent :D
i cant start the game anymore. after the title screen the window pops up about "failed to download data file" it continues with the standard "make sure you're connected to the internet, firewall etc. is the game unavailable atm or some new problem? first time it came up EDIT: i did a verify install run and it didnt find a problem with it, but its working now again.
i definately like the music. i like the atmosphere (i can already feel it). i like the forests and the swamps. i can only imagine how much i'll like the full game [e digicons]:erk:[/e]
all i can say any hearts of iron or europa universalis is a must have for any grand strategy junkie. the paradox forums are amazingly active so youll always have someone to help you out
to answer the dev question: I WANT BIG MEATY EXPANSIONS!
the thing i liked most about Knights of Honor was the diplomacy. Often times leaders from other countries would just react to your actions and either warn you or give you something even just congratulate you on a job well done. i never really had that immersive feel in another game. i wish it would be implemented as well in the Total War games. However, KoH was very flawed in other respects. personally i hate the limit on leaders/army size. they should do a new one and iron out the shortcomin
awesome drawings
I mailed about this with support, and they said that when the beta is available (not before unfortunately ) you will get an email with a beta key sent to the email address you gave when ordering. That key you can then link to your Impulse account
great thank you for the answer!
i just preordered today. is there already any answer to this question: i don't see any indication in my impulse account that i preordered, i don't even know how we can link our impulse account to the preorder since nothing was asked when ordering, just the credit card. will we receive an email indicating start of beta and how to link our impulse account to download it?
personally i probably won't be interested in this game if it focuses on combat too much. luckily, frogboy mentioned that he, like i, will most likely autoresolve all battles. i'm more interested in the 4x stuff, especially trading and building your economy, hopefully those aspects don't get neglected.
not preordered, but going to monitor the forums for the next year and a half hopefully. will preorder when beta is available.
