I like this idea, especially if it gets applied to non-aoe spells. Right now, champions are just way too efficient compared to units. If bringing an army of champions limits the number of attacks you get, without these traits, then those champions are at greater risk of damage, which should hopefully give units a bit more of a reason to be in the game.

Honestly, I'm less concerned about Hero exp gain than I am with unit exp gain. Units just seem to level so slow if you don't take things like Trainer or General. While those are interesting background traits and I don't mind them, it just seems weird to see it be so slow. That, or it feels slow because I'm not noticing when they level versus the heroes, that's always possible.

The Ancient Crow I found to be fairly useless...without a lot of Air Shards they don't do a lot of damage with thunderstrike, and they don't do a ton of damage on their own. Burning Wraths just have too few hit points, although the Mirror Elemental takes the rank of king with that issue.

Honestly, I've played most of my games to late game, and by mid-game, the AI can't even slow me aside from dragons. Chainmail means that the AI trained units can't even touch me. Chainmail! I mean, plate maybe, but not chainmail... -_- The other problem is that the late game weapons are so hard to get, and so little function. And yes, crystal is supposed to balance things out, but with a strong economy that's not too much a problem until you make a unit like I had in

Honestly, I agree with a lot of this. I've only been playing for a few days, and it's taken me a while to start realizing that, frankly, I have no reason to really focus on making a better city. Especially since outposts are so much easier to get instead of growing a city's zone of control. I do wish that the tiles would be a bonus to production and growth, and not the only determining factor. Although maybe it might be easier, since we're so close to release, to make

I suppose it might just be me and my games, but I just finished a game with 6 units of 7 cavalry each, and several hundred horses just sitting there not being used...and the game before that was similar. I suppose it really might just be me, but I haven't found horses to be a limiting factor. Crystal, now, crystal has slowed me down.

I've played two games to completion, and found that the AI just can't keep up with properly designed units. I tend to run a lot of cavalry units for the map bonuses, and by the time I hit late game, I'm just unstoppable. The only thing the AI can do, and it's getting annoying honestly, is start spamming formations, which means I need to kill 6 or 7 separate armies, none of which do anything to slow me down beyond needing to keep attacking. I would love to see the AI get smarte
