Frogboy, is there any intention to have flaws you can select which give you more points to spend on other advantages and to help better define your soverign as an individual.

Yes I believe I've read that as well, I fully agree also that they should be special units rather than run of the mill cannon fodder.
Similar to an idea I posted before I read this on soverign handling in the developers journal though not exactly the same idea.
To expand upon the idea I posted on this thread this morning; Ideas on Sovereign vulnerability – IMO the Sovereign should be like a cross between the King & Queen in chess e.g. the most powerful piece you have at least potentially, but a piece
On Sovereign Handling - When a Sovereign establishes a city you should give them the option of spending an extra point of Essence to place a Relique there. This will act as a sort of home for their soul should their body be destroyed. So if they are killed in battle they are transported to the nearest Relique instead of dying. They should then have to spend 5 essence to reincarnate themselves before they can move around or cast other spells again When capturing a city you woul
The memory leak bain of programmers everywhere... pretty much whenever something runs well for a while and then gradually gets laggier & laggier it's a memory leak, I'm sure Stardock are interested in finding and squashing these ASAP.
I would like to see all units fully customisable, it's one of the big features that attracted me to the game. For me it's not just about their stats in the game it's about letting my imagination run wild, to units with very similar stats may have very different equipment names and descriptions. I want to be able to create my own world as I play so this is essential. For me in GC2 designing ships never got old and was always fun. I'd like to be able to make cosmetic customisations as w
I love the idea of info cards in Elemental and the idea of creating my own card description for units I design. Make it so Frogboy.
Tormy, you've just added to my suspicion that the 8800's have a short life span. Not altogether shocking I guess think the 200 series will be better their on a smaller process and run cooler, factory overclock is bound to shorten life span a bit though. Vaul_Darkhour, not to suprised by that. But like the Murphies I'm not bitter ;-) could have gone any time nothing to do with Stardock or the Beta really.
Edit: I'd like to go further than what I've stated here too. Cut out the unit design. Might be a harsh decision, but like other posters stated, it just doesn't fit a magic oriented game. Put the focus of customizing units purely on the heroes and work with unique units per faction just like in Civ IV and the Age of Wonders series.
Just like to register how strongly I disagree with this, unit design is one of the
I though I favoured B before reading this, it makes sense a player could recycle old iron for example of they had lost their iron mine, but it would take longer. However the point about finding a balance point where possesing the resouce is still relavent but it doesn't take so long producing a unit isn't worth it is a very good point. So over all I'd go with C.
I think there should be many resources, some of which you only see on the map if you have researched the right technologies ore even maybe some that need a particular spell to reveal. I do agree you should be able to produce Iron weapons even if you don't have an iron mine, but I think it should take much, much longer as you would have to gather iron from trace amounts and trade.
Cool because I agree it's a great idea.
Interestingly my 8800 ultra at only 2 years old did fry when playing the elemental beta [e digicons]#:([/e] . I'm not blaming the software though don't worry [e digicons]O:)[/e] , just bad luck that thing always ran fast and hot I kind of wonder if all 8800 Ultras have short life spans as after all there just factor overclocked 8800 GTX cards really. Anyway replaced it with a 295GTX so back in the Beta now.
At the end of the turn when roads between any 2 cities are completed just after caravans appear when I press the next turn button the game locks up every time tried leaving it 5 minutes but the only thing I can do is kill it from task manager; debug.err Sorry there you are.
Myself I'm happy with "Done" or "Close" certainly not "Cancel" which would not be true.
I've just downloaded the new beta build I'm pleased they've added in the ability to demolish a building now, seems more stable but still a little crash prone.
yes by internally they mean it hasn't been fixed yet in the public beta, but they have the fix.
yes looks like the wolf doesn't like publiscity.
This is not really an issue that needs looking at yet, the built in units as you put it are in simple xml files, the purpose of this first Beta is to check for crashes and compatability issues as noted in the sticky notes above. Any units in the game at the moment are little more than place holders.
Yes for me I find it pretty natural to zoom out put the cursor over the thing I'm interested in then zoom right back in with the mouse wheel. It's quick and easy...of course if you don't have a mouse wheel it's an issue.
I think a simple paper doll system would allow people to see better just what they can and can't equip on a unit of course this might already be in the works but if not it should be considered.
yes it does make it easier to check out the whole map and find problems with the map generation so interesting, I too had found those xml files hadn't tried modding them though. One thing though best to back them up before you change them.
yes about 30 threads reporting this already ;-) I think they know guys.
I always thought people taking offense at the idea of evil being represented symbolicly with black as silly, the root of this is obvious and has nothing to do with race. Human fear of the dark, because we have such a well developed sense of vision being robbed of it at night is frightening particularly to our ancestors who would have had nocturnal predators to fear, hence night and black (the abscence of light) become symbols of evil in many human cultures. Sorry just an aside
