Goodmorning all, One thing I am hoping for in is an improvement in the Auto explore AI. The GC auto explore AI worked as 'find nearest(to original starting point?) unexplored region, set destination, when arrive repeat.' The algorithm doesn't cause the scout to cross the territory very often, so some use of the current location is also taken into account. It's a perfectly functional auto explore, but i hope that the El

Goodmorning all As i see it, The debate of Wether or not to allow loss of tech at loss of town as two differnt Points of view. Preventing Rage Quit, and Preventing steam rolling. They are two somewhat different effects, and have different thresholds. There are the one town loss, one battle loss, Rage Quitters. nothing can be done to appease them no effort to do so is worth while. The second is more subtle, If the Research loss is

Goodmorning again,
During a surrender the population of the weaker nation are either enslaved, fled or migrated to the race of the victorious nation thus the majority of benefits of the capital and its people are lost thus the original capital remains unchanged.
For Surrender i took the GC modle, all towns and units of faction A are 'concured/given' to faction B. nothing in faction B's orriginal empire is changed by the surrender. Demanding a surrender rat

Goodmorning alll, One thing to take into account is that some of the economic discusion focuses around the existance of specilized cities. It is not a huge strech to imagin that Elemental will have some bonuses for creating a city specially fucused on producing research. (buildings that provide a blanket +% to all research production in this city is the normal way to do this). Therefore having labs spread out over multiple cities will carry a non trivial disadvantage.

Goodmorning all, For normal guilds, Size doesn't 'really' matter, so a huge guild will have a huge score, and on GC a huge area of the megaverse. Want to be in a big guild, join one, want to be and underdog elite, join one of those guilds (if they let you). For the super large epic games i'm suggesting, guild size would be important, if one guild is too large, then it whipes everybody else out, too small, dead. So Guilds would have to have some additi

Goodmorning all
what you refer to as guilds STRONGLY remind me of empires from the GC2 Metaverse.
I never got too much into the metaverse, My understanding is that the metavers just graphically diplayed the relitive strenghts of empires. It didn't have any serious in game reprocutions. All games you played counted to score, only score really counted for empire size. I'm hopeing for that, and a seperate ultra ultra huge,

Goodmorning all. Firstly, Yes, your right, it is possible that the game could be coded in such a way as to have multiple channlers be inpossible. Most/all of the proprties i can think to include in a channler are extendable to a multi channler modle, But that doesn't mean that the code as written is changeable. However only frogboy knows the code, so this we'll have to let drop. Secondly, some clarifications; 1. The 'merger' is a suggested replacmen

Goodmoring all, I've been thinking of the multiplayer side of E:WOM. ************************************************************* Summery of what is known:: My understanding is that LAN may not exsist, (personally i hope it does). Direct IP almost certainly won't exsist. (but instead semi-direct IP will, where stardock hosts, but it seams or acts like direct IP from a user point of view) and both standard one off games will exist, but also a 'per

Goodmorning again, I think the actual simplicity of what i am proposing is being lost in translation. Firstly non of this is worthwhile unless you set out to make the AI User accessable/ineractable. The amound of gameplay gain, would be tiny compaired to the code required to power it. But if you DO use a UI inhanced AI, then most of it is free, or nearly free( once you've made the rest of it work. [not impossible, but not easy, and not beyond frogboy]). <br

Goodmorning
The better idea for winged humans and such is to just fuck it and say shit happens. Rationalizing it only gets you in trouble with the nit pickers, it really isn't plausible.
thats more what i was trying to say, complaining about dragons flying without 10 football field wide wings is just pointless, you can explain away any problem saying magic did it, or draggons have hugely stronger ligher mussles bones everything then we do, because they ar

Both sufficent bata time, but also if the system is inplace, and access is also given to the decision tree, elite moders could develop new script tools, and define new branch points, finner distictions between towns. This would alow moders to build and save AI scripts, that allow for fully automated competitions. 3 users load their AI to govern the towns, and are shown the whole map, as they watch their creations battle it out against eachother and the official AI. Just as the game

Goodmorning all, I've been thinking about this proposed system. and decided it might help make things clear if i gave a direct example. We don't know enough of elemental to make meaningful concrete recommendations, so instead I'll focus on Civ 4. In Civ 4 good players almost can not use the AI; for example Automated workers are generally accepted as not being

If the game has an x com like battle format it would be neet to extend the battle amp, add destroyable terrain, and have small ish armyies hunt eachother down true x-com 40 minute batle style. would have ti be a mod .

The hard thing would be for the opposing AI's to be able to espianoge steal your plans. There are two ways to handle that, you can have them not be able to steal them/steal more bacis information, this unit was sent there, this town's got this on it's build list. or you can something populate a plan for the user, both so that they can keep it up to date [allowing them to build stratagies, check things off as they get them finished, remind them of things they were tryin

I would have but my webbrouser is cutting off the top of the webpage, so i don't see anything above the top of the angles head. Meaning i couldn't see, and can't click the english button. And just iterms of the battles, the which monster attacks next slider showing mulitple turns, and the style of the units attack animations. Purely from the few releaced videos and such.

While yes any form of diologe would be over the top, and parcing sentence structure to extract battle plans, would be undoable. The AI will have a limited list of goals, meta goals, avalible to it. You add to each of them a string, and you can communicate to a user. Then you show the list and the user chooses from it. No real diologe is provided, it's build by lego. Unless somebody wants to Phython script a NEW meta goal, or a new goal, then you work with the le

Goodmorning all, I know that the system i am proposing is ambitious, but i don't think it is overly ambitious. Consider, half the system is almost a requirment. the A top down AI desission making process will be needed. Some part of the AI will have to desided what it's top priorities are, and baced on those top priorities devise secondary goals, and from those what direct actions it will need to take. At this stage all i'm adding is that

i would have to disagree about the most of us not wanting micro, I think the poll on that would probably come out wieghted well in favour of micro. . . but. I think we're talking two sides of the same coin. My suggestion is that all AI's that work for you should be transparent, and demonstrate thier logic and what steps they are going to take to achive thier goals. You say give the town the goal of blot, I say give the AI the goal of Blot,
