Dxdiag never successfully recognizes Nvidia cards that use the Optimus technology on a laptop. There isn't a good workaround either, that I know of. I've been searching for such a workaround to no avail, so that I can get you to believe I have the card that I say I do

I just installed FE on steam. Crash to desktop on load, 3-4 seconds into the load process. Seriously? I looked around on the forum, seems that setting steam and/or FE to administrator was a common solution, no luck. Here is my debug err. http://pastebin.com/h4Mh7D1G Despite being a crash, there is no zip file of any kind in my game directory - \Steam\steamapps\

I like that I can point to Elemental's "everything and the kitchen sink" design strategy as a big no-no. :P
Unfortunately, this is a perennial downside with many 4x titles. 4x titles can often be imagined as a race. In the beginning, every racer is racing separately, and doesn't necessarily know who is ahead - which is fun. Often developers have put a lot of focus into the opening moves to make them balanced as well. It's easy to play the first hour and test that, and also those first hours are the ones game reviewers usually see. Plus the whole 'hook th
I think the "hero in squads' mechanic has merit - it's the way the Warhammer games do it. I think the idea of only letting champs quest also makes a lot of sense. Another thing I think would help a lot is if there were spells/effects/attacks that were "AOE on squad" so that if you attacked a squad with that, it would hit each individual in the squad, thus multiplying its damage, but a champ would only take the base damage. Even melee attacks from things like a giant could
Last thing I knew Chris was working on big time was Alpha Protocol - which did not do so hot. But Fallout New Vegas seems to be doing better. I would also like to see a Stardock style sandbox RPG. Oblivion and Fable are the big names in that particular niche, but neither really strikes my fancy well - Oblivion mostly because the mechanics that have been driving the Bethesda games are pretty poor, and Fable because, well... it's Fable. :P I think a "Dwarf Fotress"
I'm just worried I won't be able to download through impulse. Has anyone done that from a territory like China? I guess I will contact them next - their support/help area was kind of sparse.
So, I've been curious about this game since well before its launch. But I'm currently working in China and Impulse seems to have problems with me making a purchase from here. Btw, before you ask, I'm a US citizen, not a Chinese software pirate. :P I have a couple of questions, perhaps someone who's navigated these waters before. 1. Is there any way to actually get it and download it from Impulse 2. Assuming #1 won't work, if I just got someone to buy a copy
