When somebody spends more than $50 on something, they will champion the cause until the cause either sinks or swims. Add to that an investment of time some people have put forth (beta testing and whatnot), and you have a bona fide group of zealots. There's nothing wrong with it of course, and if you check the young forums of any newly birthed game, you will find similar groups of people with similar aspirations.
