The game in general SEEMS to be good. However the site and support information seems to be very weak if you ask me. For an online game this would be a necessary trait. I'm not sure if this will be worth it. First impressions is everything. They failed at theirs.
I think the next gen in Space MMOs should be similar to 3D RPGs like Mass Effect, in which there are things both to do on planets themselves as well as the usual space exploration and combat. Take a look at Infinity. Cheers
This game looks way cool
I would not mind that kind of travel. It actually seems cool. With so many possibilities for desaster it's cool. I would also add that once you beat the creatures at the entry port that it not stay free forever. Meaning another creature could come and make it his home once again. MOM always left it open once you beat the creature. I did not like that. I would of liked it if another creature showed up after a while. It could cut off yoour troups and leave you stranded in
I agree it has it's merit.
I just copied and paste your name. I did not even see it until this morning LOL
pigeonpigeon your point was way better detailed :) Cheers
I'm sure that many other players agree with Solam here, but IMO a game like Elemental is more likely to attract folks who disagree than was a game like GC2. Here, I suspect that having a game that works like a good story will be more important to more players. That leaves me leaning to the idea of a very generic way of describing turns/time, *unless* the devs can devise a meshed time management scheme that can whip the problems described above about mixing sub-plots that involve things
Guys and girls.... does it really matter? I mean, it's a fantasy game. What difference can it possibly do that a wall is erected in 2 days instead of two monts. For all we know it can take 3 weeks 2 days 5 hours. We have to put a measure but it means nothing really if everybody abides by the same scale. if a wall takes 2 days for everybody who cares? Just my opinion. :)
If we can go anywhere anytime what's the point of having a big map? It seems to me the only reason to have one is for the ressources. I want to go back home cast spell. I need to get to the frontlines cast spell. I want my entire army in one place... cast spell. What's the point? Maybe I just don't see it but that's how I would feel. There is no point to having a big map. no dissavantage.
I'm not sure if I would want something like that. (I'm not saying no either) I like the idea that making a huge army might not save your bottom. If you expand to fast or to much you can get burned. It's always been THE problem for most empires. Being big as advantages but it's also very hard to keep everything together. So not having any gates would add strategy on how much do you really want to expand and HOW do you want to expand.
It is alway moddable. What is less modabble is the quantity of RAM you have in your computer. Bigger armies means more RAM load. Time to upgrade to a 64 Bits OS perhaps ? People tends to focus on bigger map = Bigger RAM but with crazy modding we can have bigger city = bigger army = bigger ram
Personally I don't enjoy huge maps. It takes to long to play, it takes to much micromanageme
As far as I am concerned there are no ties. Only defeats. You win when you own the battlefield. If everybody dies you both loose. I don't see any possibility of a tie. Maybe I just don't understand. I just thik whatever happens when you loose should happen if nobody wins.
In MOM you could always flee but depending on the speed of your troops you could loose some or all of them. Moreover being able to flee with a fast troop gave you the possibility to cast a nice fat spell and then excape before your ennemy could do anything to you. I remember being saved a few times when my armies were weak but my spells were powerful. I destroyed a few heroes that way. I think being able to flee is very important in this type of game. It should be balan
when I was a kid I use to play Starflight. I remember playing for our and hours exploring space and mapping planets for colonization. Mining for endurium. I loved that game. Wish they could make another one like that!!!
A series comming out that can't quite be called an epic yet (Only 1 book realeased so far) is Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicle. This one is currently one of the better new fantasy books available now.
Funny you mentioned that book. I just bought it a few weeks back and I was wondering if it was worth reading. :p I read the WOT a few times. The first few books I always loved but at some point he did start to rave. Still one of the best serie
I would of prefered a new cast in the future as well. Enterprise K or something with brand new technology and the likes. I think that maybe they are keeping that for a future tv series. (I can always hope) Going back in the past and changing Canon I have nothing agaist it and I am a Dire fan of trek. In TOS canon was not followed during the series itself anyway so it's nto a big deal. a few things do bother me. Having the flagship in the hands of cadets it very
way cool Thanks a bunch to everybody!
Oh and by the way thanks for the info guys!!!
So she will have to bring a remote from her mother for exemple. I copy the mii in the remote and when she gets to her mother she will have access to the mii. Will she still have the mii in the original console?
Just check out of a non-Elemental related forum like FFH's at Civfanatics...they posted up some screenshots and people were mocking Elemental before a dev stopped by and the ass-kissing started. These are the people who are going to make the game successful...and their first reaction was to mock it.
Most forums would mock it. Strange thing is that most of the good games that were announce way in advance usually get mocked. Because most poeple expect early
My daughter spends half of her time with me and the other half with her mother. Her mother finally bought a wii. My daughter would like to have her mii on both console without having to create another one. IS there a way to have her mii on both machine at all times? Thanks
Sky drake??? Where's the sky drake? Such a tease!! He's worse then my girlfriend!!!!
What I do not want to see is an Underground area where everything woks like on the top level. meaning an extension of the main map. That's a no no. What I would like to see is caves and dungeons for troups to invade and find treasures. Nothing to build and only to explore and find Items, heroes, monsters. In MOM you had ruins and towers and the likes. You could only do battle and then would be rewarded. I would like to extend the experience where you can expand on
hell I just bought a pc now and for some reason I yhad a feeling Vista was still new stuff. Now with what I hear it's old stuff And I will need to get another OS. Did Xp not last for 5 or 6 years or soemthing? Now vista is in for 2 and it's game over... What am I missing?
Just a pesky interface question: How will user-supplied 'mod' content interface with MP mode? Are we looking at something like Battle for Wesnoth, where all players need to hunt down the most recent version of the mods being used to play the game? Or will there be some manner of automated mod gathering tool? But the main gist of this question is 'can we MP with mods'?
</p
