Reply to Windows 8 Fences Slow to Startup in Fences Stardock Forums

Yeah, it's slow. I'm running Win 8 Pro x64 with a Samsung 840 SSD and lots of hard drives. Takes twenty seconds to boot to a useable desktop without fences and 40 to 50 with fences. I'm contemplating uninstalling it. The reason Win 8 boots faster than Win 7 is that it delays program and service startup on a selective basis. Well, it selects fences to go last. Off the topic but Win 8 is Win 7 with a graphic start menu. And you don't boot

I just got Object Desktop yesterday so I'm new to this too. It looks like you have to edit the skin itself which can only be done with the skin editor that comes with object desktop. It's kind of a trial and error thing so far but it's a lot of fun to learn. OK, here's the truth . . . I have most of it figured out but haven't got desktop icon caption size figured just yet. Can't get the font size I want for the icons set permanently in the skin. I've got all my other fonts sized,
