Gah stupid college :( I leave two days before Elemental come out, and I probably won't have any time to do much of anything at WPI
Thrawn2787
I'm a bit late here but I'll post my thanks [e digicons] Only problem is I'm going to college 2 days before the game ships, so I won't really be able to play it... and I won't have my boxed LE for a few weeks [e classic]X-([/e]
LOL at describing the game as an RTS. Though I'd love to see you do one someday.
Sins of a solar empire ring any bells? [e digicons]:X[/e]
* Performance is MASSIVELY better. * Been doing a lot of focusing on stability.
Thank jebus! Has the "out of memory" bug been fixed? And hopefully I'll finally be getting a framerate more suited to this game than Crysis >.>
Anyways I think that Adventuring/Magic should both be able to (or atleast magic) support your economy if you don't have a good start like this one (100 gildar per tern, among other things fairly fast) Alot of people are probably going to want to do conquest victories (at least online), so that's why I say there should be ways to have a decent economy with a st
Brad you keep mentioning the RTM version, my question is, do review sites review the RTM or day 0 version? Things might be bad if they don't update And magic / adventuring are a bit... well overpowered? You can rush them and your enemies will never know (though they will know that you're conquering all their cities if you chose conquest) And diplomatic capital still confuses me as to what it does and how much of it you need to win
Saije, you must not be a gamer.
And you must be another mindless zombie for Vivendi, I mean Bobby Kotick... I mean Activision. Wait. No. Blizzard
I refuse to buy a 12 year old game for $60 from such an evil company :P
Also worth noting that the expansions will be priced as expansions, not full releases.
Where'd they announce that?
Same error, I had 2 massive towns (one was 4 and the other was 3 but both had lots of resources) and a small enemy town was in sight Engine needs more optimization before release [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Agreed completely. Something needs to be done about the pathetically low HP. It's ok in the early game, but late game it makes things much more difficult (and not in a good way).
I got a Dragon once. I seem to remember it had 100 HP. Point being there are high hp units that you can get
Meanwhile… The tactical team has been working on some of the cheese that slipped through (bows and spells being over-powered). I had one of my AI players train archers and it quickly walked over all the other AI players without a problem which demonstrated a real problem with how bows and spells were working. The beta community confirmed the problem as well and so that was something that got zapped today. The problem
I don't know if this is a bug or if's being fixed but one of my guys had .7 moves in a tactical battle, so he couldn't move or attack (I ended up losing that battle )
I thought it was funny http://kotaku.com/5567961/sins-of-a-solar-empire-studio-produces-free-vuvuzela+buster Though they got the headline wrong, stardock only published Sins. Oh well Everyone hates them Vuvuzelas! <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"
Doln some late night postin there Brad? Thank god for no more strong monsters near me, that seemed to happen alot
It's on youtube fyi
Anyways, I decided to record some game play of beta 2 (and my beta 1 videos were pretty popular too, the first part as hover 12000 views now). Anyway, here's the first two parts along with the Beta 2 intro. Show this to your friends who haven't preordered yet!!!! <param
Will I what? [e digicons]o_O[/e]
Well I guess I should ask before the beta comes out (because god knows how many threads there will be on this when it does come out) but what ports do we need to forward to play Elemental online (if any)? For those of you who don't know how to do that: http://portforward.com/
Time to go out there and get Stardock some free publicity... not like I haven't been doing that already [e digicons][/e]
More map making on the stardockgames youtube channel <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ywubTfZv23U&hl=en_US&fs=1&" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullsc
For those of you who aren't subscribed on youtube to Draginol, here's a video of Brad (Wardell) playing with the Elemental tile and map editors <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5x
Hmm the fact that we can put effects on tiles makes me think... can we make tornadoes (or storms or what have you) that go around the map each turn?
Wow... seriously? I had no idea... Now I'm quite a bit miffed that PC games have been ham-strung to accommodate consoles
What consoles lack in RAM and VRAM they really make up for in processing power. The PS3 has 7 cores I believe
Seriously, if we could have something like that in Elementall....I think that EWoM could be the "perfect" game for a strategy gamer and modders.
I think Elemental will be modder friendly, but not THAT modder friendly. Besides there is the tile designer
