wwwooooffffff!!! I'm fed up with shitty connection to k-pad's site. I need some new hosting. devArt are not officialy hosting us anyway. free hosting usually means draconian rules - no exe's, no big files, no smoking. Anyone got some idea ? (no, f2s.com don't allow binaries, thank you)

nehhh.... no place to rest your arms on.. two monitors but none is directly in front of you. and the whole installment looks like a medieval torture device. Or is this some kind of a gym device ?? Now that I said that, I feel better with my plain old chair...
ok, but I'm talking mainly about a platform for building production systems: Let me ask you this: say the army has decided to make all of its fighting vehicles - planes, ships, tanks - completely automatic, and run by computer software. They are in a debate whether to choose NT or Linux/*nix...What would you choose? This is no science fiction - The US navy has one experimental, completely un-manned warship run by NT - The U.S.S. Yorktown. And they have already lost connection wi
I doubt if the admins/users of such a site will have the IQ to even get it on-line...muhahahaha. But seriously, there are a lot of immature people in ./, that are usually balanced by other user comments "cool off, hotshot". I do think you'd be hard-pressed to find many technically-savvy users who think Windows (as an OS) carries some major enhancements over *nix, and linux in particular. except comfortable GUI, MAYBE.
Ehh, we all will upgrade soon enough. First we'll be reluctant, then we'll see it working at some friend's computer, say something like "hmm, it does have some nice feature, ya know?" and then switch, after all the fuss we previously made about stability. But the reality is, I program critical systems for which stability is imporant, and I don't see MS being able to offer the kind of uptime that *nix has. I love win2k, but they're not there yet, and XP won't change that. It's some basic
Basically, VMS rulz: It's really amazing: all the 'great advancements' in operating systems were apparentely stolen from Digital (now part of Compaq). 32-bit in win95? Hell, they did it the seventies. Windows NT? Based on VMS, created by engineers who left Digital. Microsoft COM? yeah, you've guessed. And the same applies to RAID technology, not to mention clustering and whatnot. But the thing is, VMS is also boring and bureaucratic. So
yes people, favIcons are a good idea, yet as of today (IE 5.x) it just doesn't work right.
ok, this virus mainly affects web servers, or w2k computers with indexing turned-on. So it won't affect the average Joe-Outlook-Guy, but it IS gonna crash the whole internet anyway, so ya won't be able to read your mail after all Turns out that sometime around tomorrow, it's gonna launch a VERY massive denial-of-service attack on the white-house website, which should kill a hell lot of routers on t
f00ls never die, they just grow stronger... these people who keep on having the virus, probably deserve it.
yeah, it should make him feel a bit better
Any One who doesn't get the sircam virus ay least twich a day should _seriously_ check himself and his social habits.
...makes me wanna go to the bathroom right now You have outdone skinz.org , guys.. That's not poo-brown ,that's s**t-brown... Oh well.
I remember that when I was younger.. I saw the source code for an app called "Axe" - It taught me how do skinning. I began to play with it... Then after two years, kewlpAd came out. Hmmm..how much money will you give me for the CD support?? oh damn, it's open-source
for me, it's emacs. Enter-Meta-Alt-Control-Shift
oops again Jafo . Altough my english is not that bad for a non english-speaker (I hope...), it can hepann ( ). About the copy/paste thing - Once again: You can use Ctrl+C/V/X/A, but we won't waste precious menu space to have those features on the menu. You are supposed to be power-users, aren't you?
oops. mis-spelled (un)delibarately...
AJ, the animation is totally replaceable - Each skin can provide one, or you can do it yourself, just put 'spinner.swf' file where the skin is. kewlpad was written in VB (you can download some of the code from the website). And about the copy/paste thing: k-pad is supposed to be 'simple-style'. Features that have a common short-cut will just take space in the menu. We delibaretly didn't want to have File, Edit, View, Blah... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/
Hi, I and nevioTH (maybe he writes it as 'neviOTH'? I can't remember) have just released kewlpad 1.3, an update to our skinnable notepad. Included are some really nice gadgets, that are intended to make actual work with app quite fun. Also, there's mouse-wheel support (finally) by Dave Buckner, who joined the team. Well, congratulations... I hope the baby has a great skin.
