I'd be interested in the "game for making games" for my kids. They've been making their own stuff in Scratch and Roblox. They really like the remix feature in Scratch that lets them fork/edit/share from their friends or from interesting games that they find.

I'd prefer to avoid the name "season pass" and just stick with "Earth Rising" or maybe "The Earth Rising Era" or "The Earth Rising Saga" (or something like that). Would it ever make sense to buy "Earth Rising: Destiny" without already having "Earth Rising: The Syndicate"? If not, this feels more like an expansion or story delivered episodically/incrementally rather than a bunch of stuff bundled together into a pass.

I'm also in favor of a Discord chat. It looks like Stardock is trying that out for their Windows utilities and Ashes of the Singularity according to the latest Stardock newsletter. Hopefully a place for the rest of their titles will come soon :)

Great update. I really enjoyed reading about all of the tough decisions that had to be made. It's especially interesting (to me) to hear how the gameplay experience weighs against the technical limitations/challenges. The latest human commander uniform reminds me of the uniforms from the Wing Commander games. All of the concept art and screenshots still have an art direction that feels right to me for a Star Control game.

Seems like something funny is going on with delivery. I received the October Part 1 email, but not Part 2 or the new November one. I checked my gmail spam folders and they're not in there either. I received plenty of the newsletters before now, and I've received other mailings from Stardock in October/November as well.

Aside from a story that really hooks the player, the first fifteen minutes should also hook the player on the gameplay. My favorite game tutorial by far is the one from Offworld Trading Company. The writing is entertaining, the pacing is comfortable, the instructions are clear, and the flow of the whole thing really gets you into the game and wanting to play more. With Star Control having so many different "modes" (interstellar exploration, planetary exploration, super melee, dialog, questing

Great update! I really like the Origins framing for the story and multiverse. The planetary landing bit seems like it will be a fun addition to planetary exploration. The art and music both still seem to be going in a fun and funky direction which should fit the feel set by Star Control 2 quite nicely.

Mine runs the DX11 version, but the DX12 version shows the "Initializing..." screen and then just exits. I'm running the latest release nvidia drivers on a GTX 980M. I'm happy to provide log files or whatever.

Lately I've really enjoyed Explorminate, Space Sector, and Space Game Junkie, but I think they're all pretty small. They've already provided some coverage of your upcoming stuff.

I'm interested in purchasing Destiny's Embers as an eBook, but I don't have a Kindle. My Sony eReader supports ePub eBooks, with and without Adobe DRM. Will the book be available for eReaders other than Kindle? Also, I think I heard that the book includes an extra campaign for the game. Will the eBook version(s) include this, or will that be exclusive to the paper book? Thanks! I'm really looking forward to playing the game on Tuesday, and hopefully buying
