I believe that's an engine problem and not fixable via modding.

So I just spent the last 3 hours trying to reinstall Demigod. Obviously (heh), I had kept all of my modding files and my collection of demigod data patches, but I had uninstalled the game a while ago to free up space. So installing it should have been straight forward. However, I had forgotten I had some old logitech camera drivers installed, which I had to uninstall for Demigod to work. Goodness that annoys me. Looking at the abilities Plague does 15/30 damage per tick for 30 seconds. Plague infects friendlies with 10. Plague gives an immunity if you live through it for a few minutes. Post Mortem makes you blow up if you die dealing 150 damage to friendlies within 6. Post Mortem makes you blow up if you die dealing 8 meta to everything within 3, I think this insta-gibs minions. Post Mortem lasts for 30 seconds after the last UB hit.
Pacov's thread inspired me, so I finally got around to trying out LoL. I have a love/hate relationship with GPG. I love GPG, I've bought almost every GPG game and so many of them are excellent games that I've played endlessly. I hate GPG, GPG has really annoyed me with some of the outcomes of their games (SC2, DS3, Demigod support, AOE-O,etc). I've really got some strong opinions on their Demigod support (re:Uberhack). How much GPG is to blame for these outcomes isn't public knowledge and could be (and has been) debated endlessly. R
I don't want any unnecessary middlemen between me and my applications. Steam as a download client, sure, whatever, Mozilla also works pretty well. Steam as a form of DRM is unnecessary and unwanted. You can use the icons if you were worried about the permissions. They aren't perfect, but they aren't horrible.
I like Stardock. I like to give Stardock money. I tolerated Impulse to give Stardock more money. I bought things I didn't really need to because I wanted to give Stardock more money. I don't like GameStop. I don't like that GameStop contributed so much to the Demigod launch disaster. I don't like the idea of GameStop controlling my access to my "installation disks". Given the hullabaloo over how Poison Blood potions should work, I revoke the right to assume rational thought and action to demigod players. ;p
The crux is that people don't want the QoT to be very good. Uproot with VS at all levels wasn't overpowered. LO should probably link all the Uproot discussions so that people can get background if they are interested.
If I'm not mistaken, all banning does is prevent you from accessing the Stardock Servers for Demigods. So, to use an analogy: If you don't play nicely with others, Stardock doesn't take your toys away, they simply don't let you come over to their house to play. That seems fair to me.
