With the latest 163.11 drivers and my 320MB 8800gts, when i run the new World in Conflict beta for more than 10 minutes at high settings with 2x AA, it has the nvlddmkm driver restart error which crashes the game. If I turn the settings down to where I'm getting 30-40fps it works better but I like the quality at 20fps so I hope nvidia gets their act together and fixes this. I also have random explorer crashes whe

Well I found one solution which is to download the free Microsoft Virtual PC x64, put it on the vista 64, and install vista 32 in a virtual machine. It's a pain but once it's setup it does work.
When I run dreammaker (latest version) on vista x64, it runs and I enter all the info but when I press create dream, it throws a .net exception with a script error. I've had someone else try it on x64 and they had the same problem. Is there a workaround to this other than installing an x86 dual boot? If not it needs to be fixed ASAP
I'll try the canopus encoder... if you go to http://home.centurytel.net/juliekc/xp.jpg and http://home.centurytel.net/juliekc/vista.jpg you can see the obvious quality difference. This is the SAME mpeg file that was encoded by premiere playing on xp and on vista. What profile do you use in premiere when exporting MEPG? Addition: Is the Canopus encoder hardware based?
I'm making dreams and I need an MPEG encoder that actually works with vista decoders. I have tried the integrated Adobe Media Exporter in Premiere, and several free converters online, and they all make my blacks turn out grey and fades the color. That same video looks fine on xp computers. What is the trick? Any special encoders you're using?
Are there plans to make Object Desktop subscribers get all the premium dreams for free? Or atleast some of them? That would be a nice benefit to OD owners.
it's called marketing
This is perfectly normal. The dreamscene uses that much CPU, and when a window is maximized, dreamscene automatically pauses because it knows you can't see it and wants to give the performance back. So basically, if you're running a resource heavy program, just maximize it and dreamscene is not uses CPU cycles.
I think i've found the problem. I use a different media player (not wmp11) because I think wmp11 is just bloatware. All my WMA dreams froze explorer but the mpeg's worked fine. I then associated wma files with windows media player and the wma dreams worked again. Perhaps those of you that are having MPEG's freeze (blissful sunset is mpeg) or having all of them freeze need to associate the file names with windows media player 11. Try that and see if it helps <img src="http://ima
Buy your monitors at costco... they take returns for ANY reason. I got a 22" HD monitor and it had two red pixels, took it back and they didn't even open the box before they exchanged it.
Yes, if you go to the dream installation folder and go up one level, there is a folder of extracted data. This is where the cached file is placed. If you delete the cache folder for that specific dream, it'll display the new data (you have to start a different dream before you can delete the cache for it). Good luck!
nobody knows of a way to get rid of dreamscene on just the secondary monitor?
i have a nvidia 7600gs and my dual set up runs smoth with low cpu usage......how much ram and what speed r u guys working with...perhaps that has something to do with it My system is quite fast... 1.83Ghz dual core, ATI X1400 (256MB), 2GB DDR2-667 system memory. should be quite sufficient. My CPU idles around 35% with MPEG content and 40% with WMV (seems high for my system). Perhaps my dual setup doesn't work because they are high res at 16
One more note for DreamScenes...and this goes for all Just wondering, is it smooth or glitchy on your DUAL monitor configuration? if it's smooth, what graphics card do you have? I can't get my dual monitor setup to run smooth!
Got vista ultimate and just downloaded the dreamscene preview today. I'm running a core duo laptop with mobility X1400 ATI graphics. 7.1 latest vista catalyst drivers. I have dual monitors (two 1680x1050 high-def screens) and in dual monitor mode, the graphics card just barely can't handle the dreamscene and it glitches at about 15 fps and skips now and then. Very annoying. On one monitor it's as smooth as silk. Is there a way to keep dual monitors but use dreamscene on only one of the screens?
