As an aspiring writer trying to get published (short stories and my first book), I admire David Stern. It must be awesome to write for a video game. Two labors of love all rolled into one sweet delicious package. And yes, I'm also a little envious. [e digicons]^_^[/e]

Hmm... now that you mentioned it, I was using the experimental .exe as well. Coincidence? I'm still using the .exe for my current game but world and AI difficulty is at easy. Much more manageable now.

What's a good way to make gildar early game beyond the alchemy spell?

I did have a city. Didn't train any units though, was saving up for a pioneer. I did have this Janust character and an imp I summoned with magic. Still embarrassing that a pack of 5 spiders took over my town so easily... Never had a 4X be so short lol. Anyway, thanks for the link, I'll absorb all the info like a sponge and to use lower difficulty settings. :)

Hi, I just got the game last night and I'm kind of lost on what to do. Anyone have some good tips for absolute noobs such as myself to get the ball rolling? Also, I started my first game and I got my ass whooped by a pack of 5 spiders. I lasted till turn 25... Very embarrassing and kind of a motivation killer. I didn't even meet any other faction. I'm feeling very adventurous as well. I just picked up the game today and I haven't loaded it yet. I'll try this plug in this .exe and give it a whirl. :)

Gamespot today just announced that they're going the "Wait and see" approach before delving into a full review. That worried me. But, what I've noticed here is the transparency to design and customer support.
