I've an older version of hacker evolution, and it is a good travel/laptop game. Sort of puzzle-y, but like trying to solve hacker challenges. I mention it because I think the dev provides awesome support for use and modding questions over at the game's main site.

I didn't think it necessary to name names, because - as you help demonstrate - everyone that has any experience with *nix knows they're the one's trying their hardest to promote linu

I don't really feel too bad about it. Ah... aw... shucks. Alright. I want to make a themed "pack" of spells. Something that people can download and will have a set of spells that follow some .. theme. The obvious example would be packs that cover the different elements. So yes, of course, fire, water, air, earth. I wouldn't know how to create the visual effects (yet) but that would be part of the deal. Other themes might be taken from the

I have 2 left as well. Forum PM w/ email to get one. I've played it a few times, but have run out of time on my gaming calendar - I don't want the keys to go to waste if someone else is really interested in this game. [UPDATE: I have one friend's key invite left. I check the forums daily, so depending upon when you PM, it may be up to a day before I add your email to the invite. But I'll get to it usually sooner.]

This the game where the PC version was ready a few months ago, but the PC release got delayed so it could go out at the same time as the console versions. I love most of their games. I think I am beginning to dislike the company.

@kona: You can define a Windows emulator as something like VMware or Vbox if you really want, but you would be incorrect to do so. Neither VMware nor Vbox are operating system emulators. They're virtual machines. You'd be better off defining them by what they do - emulate hardware . They don't emulate Windows. You can attempt to install Windows or, I suppose, most other operating systems that support x86 architecture. Here's a nice
Really?
Really. What I think is important is to avoid looking for flaws in phrasing or taking obscure alternate meanings and interpretations from statements. No doubt you will find such flaws, especially if you look hard enough, but in so doing you'd be disputing the writer's intent. And that would seem to be at cross-purposes with what you're looking for. If you've a ques

I woudn't worry about the spelling. I saw that both were 'correct' and both mean the same thing. I noted the alternate spelling because anyone interested in researching this for their own mod or what-not would find different resources in a web search depending upon which spelling was used.

A quick google shows you're not the only person to wish for this. That same search netted some ways people have (manually) developed shape libraries and stored them as GIMP extensions for later re-use. The better/easier to understand one I found is: Drawing Shapes with the Path Tool It shows that you can draw shapes using the path tools and save those shapes for reuse later. There are several ref

Most of the game modding tutorials I've run across focus on Photoshop for 2D work and Maya or Max for 3D modeling and animation. The cost of entry for any those packages is prohibitive, as you noted. Thank you for kicking this off using the free (yet full-featured) Blender and GIMP programs. While not quite as feature-rich as Photoshop or GIMP for 2D work, I can suggest <a

I'd assumed (sue me) that the game would ship with * an 'official campaign' for single player * a multiplayer map system with x number of predefined maps and/or a random map generator * the mod tools needed to create a custom campaign - which, by definition, would also implicitly include the ability to play a custom campaign that no predefined back-story at all, which from what I read here would very neatly suit the needs of the OP and some of the responders.

I'm making a lot of assumptions about what can or can't be modded in to Elemental, but I have to believe we'd be able to create custom quests. And the first iteration of such a geas spell in Elemental might be cheesy, but over time it could probably be developed into something very interesting. <

I understand folks that say they're bored or not quite as interested in a game if the features and creatures are too familiar or cliche. But I would enjoy this game if it had all the usual suspects, including dragons, giants, trolls, gnolls, etc. And if it doesn't, I will mod them in. If I don't have a point of common reference and experience to draw from, it becomes too alien for me. This in fact is why I didn't enjoy Planescape: Torment as much as other people did.

Under Chrome's options menu, I'd look at the site-specific settings for web content, including rules on enabling and disabling certain features relating to Java and JS. If only Chrome 2 had such settings. If only Chrome 3 had such settings. Short of an interface in your browser to define how (or if) it displays such potentially unsafe content such as java-driven editors on web forums, I would send a gmail over to the Google people and ask them to make their browser mildly
