Never Happened Before, But now when impulse is taken off, i reinstalled cursorsfx and it start giving this issue. Win7x64 Cursorsfx Plus: 2.01
We just fixed it internally. The update should be up shortly. Thanks for the report.
This is true and it boggles my mind how it works. An identical one I made opens Documents.....hmmmmmm......
It was a bug. It'll be fixed in the next release.
Have you been able to reproduce the appearance of the default Windows pointer when hovering the mouse over items in dropdown lists (most notably the Value: dropdown box in SKS5) & when hovering over the domain shutdown dialog? On XPP SP2.
Yes, I forgot that one is fixed too.
We've sent a few internal test builds around this week and I've been reported about this: - Slow/choppy cursor: FIXED. - Process priority going wrong: FIXED (thanks Jacob). - Crash on loading Control panel with some old cursors: FIXED. - Too slow Control panel load time: FIXED. - CursorFX cursors disappearing on IconPackager apply: FIXED. We will iron out the new build in the next few days and then refresh the public distribution. Thanks to all people that h
Darken: let's suppose you don't have trails or effects, I don't quite understand the Shadow trick.. Are you using dynamic or static shadow? I'm pretty sure the shadow disable/enable should do nothing, but I'll investigate on dynamic. Would you try an internal build to experiment this issue?
I think it is a great idea. We are working on the 2.1 version that should feature something like that. The point is that for instant responsiveness the animations are all interruptable, while they are all queued in DesktopX. I'm not sure yet if letting animations complete would be a good thing at all, but we are giving it a test. If you can do some animations are are meant to be queued, you can send me () and we can use it to see how it runs.
By the way.. I would love to contact some forum participants to send some private internal builds and quickly have a direct confirmation for fixes. At the moment we'd like to have a broader feedback on cursor lagging and cursor disappearing. Just write me (), specifying your problem and if you are a Freeware or Plus user.

CursorFX needs .CursorFX packages. It won't read plain .PNG. However you can easily build a .CursorFX out of your favourite .PNG. Just open the editor, under the Trail tab, select your PNG, configure hotspot, timing etc and then save it. Refer to the included documentation for more information.
That looks like the unresolved occasional z-order bug into the Windows' layered window engine. It isn't something related to CursorXP or CursorFX code, but rather a combination of video drivers, application and operating system layers support. I guess if it happens with CursorXP, chances are it will happen with CursorFX, however CursorFX has a new and better code. I suggest you try the Freeware version of CursorXP and see if it solves your problem. You can always uninstall and install Cu
I will return to CXP & CXP-Plus. The free download of FX lacks the mirror-effect, one of the main reasons for me to use the programm. Emmy1960
The mirror option has always been Plus only IIRC, same is for CFX.
We fixed most of the reported problems internally. Pretty much all connected to the file association bug. We will refresh the public distribution today or tomorrow. LightStar: I don't understand your post about the editor. The CursorFX editor is like a gazilion times better than the CursorXP one. It can import CursorXP and CursorFX themes just fine, can boundle effects and trails into a single .CursorFX theme, features visual hot spot setup, it features new script features, it can easil
Hello. If you love CursorFX you can easily and quickly translate it into your language. For more information please, refer to: http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/CursorFX_Manual_Appendix_A We will include all new language files into the very next CursorFX build refresh.
CursorXP plus had something like that. We will indeed implement a sort of cursor motion blur/ghosting in the very next minor version, so stay tuned!
Re: Unlimited cursor size. CursorFX Free (sorry, "Trial" is a mistake) supports cursors of unlimited size, as opposed to standard Windows cursors. You can make a 1000x1000 pixels cursor and see that huge thing acting as your mouse pointer. Same for CursorXP Free.. there used to be that huge light saber cursor around that took 50% of the screen. Cursor resizing is a post processing and is a CursorXP Plus only feature.
CursorFX should take over file associations for .CurXPTheme and .CursorFX. Both should get custom icon and open and edit shell associations, that is, if you double click a downloaded .cursorFX or .CurXPTheme file CFX will automatically copy it into the proper directory and ask you if you want to also apply the theme. Can you confirm if the .CurXPTheme file association (icon+double click action+right click->Modify/Edit) is broken? If so, also hte .CursorFX file association should be brok
Does choosing the Windows default unload it (like Windowblindes does)? Consistency counts
Yes.
Right now, all the unloads I'm doing require death by task manager.
Good suggestion. However the current Ctrl+Shift+V key (will be customizable) is used exactly for toggling CFX on/off when necessary.
Cursor won't show when using a remote desktop session (CFX on the remote desktop). Only mention this since CXP did work over the remote session, even if it could be kind of slow at times. Vista local machine, XP remote machine, CFX Plus, Aqualix.
By design CursorFX should disable and show Windows cursors over remote sessions. This is for performance reasons. If you get totally blank cursors instead, that is a bug we can look into.
Further info on the dynamic shadows (both XP and Vista). On original apply (once selecting dynamic mode), the cursor disappears. On a complete unload and restart after that, the dynamic shadows appear to be working, and subsequent applies (after changing some settings) seem to work fine. However, the light adjustment settings don't appear to do anything (regardless of setting, the shadow looks exactly the same). Also, in dynamic mode, the preview window still shows what the
edit: by your question it looks like the file types are not the same, and it looks like I wont be able to use them... unless the file type can be changed?
CursorXP cannot read the new .CursorFX theme format.
Just go on settings and tweak how you wish.
I suggest to change the keys because these are shourtcuts for Copy/Paste formating in Microsoft Word. :-s
In the final build there will be no need to manually unload CFX (you will eventually use the UI). So we will only have one key combination that you'll be able to customize.
Opps! After going to the link for CursorFX I see it is a replacement for CursorXP. I still will not pay more since I had this for years.
This is totally respectable. However CursorFX is newer compared to CursorXP the same way Windows Vista is newer than Windows XP: you get a new user interface and new features. New features are such things like dynamic shadows, motion smoothing (Plus), animated UI, etc. There is also a new theme format that has new options such a
I can import and apply a CursorXP theme, but it doesn't show up in the list of available cursors in the UI list. I know it's a beta, but this seems like an obvious requirement (imported themes should appear in the list of available cursors). Also, while the settings changes do apply, they don't show the imported cursor in the preview portion of the screen. I would also suggest that there be an option for directly importing an existing package (maybe even a drag and drop operation),
