Yeah, see this? This right here? Yeah, this is why I like Stardock. If this was any other company, it wouldn't have been changed.
Same here. I was looking at a few games the other day and chose Elemental because it's a Stardock game--I love how they tend to support their games well past release, often adding new features to the core games, and interacting with the users on the forums. If I'd gotten an

Just wanted to comment that I'm not sure this has been completely fixed--it displays correctly, but cities don't acknowledge the new terrain level if you've built them before casting the raise/lower spells. Over a couple games I noticed that if I lowered a hill or mountain that was blocking a city off from building structure, the city still wouldn't be able to construct in that area after the land has been lowered. Usually it works fine if I lower the offending hills or mountains and

I was looking for this issue, and I see the OP hasn't followed up. I'm having the same problem--it doesn't go away later in the game, or with a new game. Using the lower or raise terrain spells seems to "fix" it in that particular area, but generally, if terrain displays as black it continues to display as black for me otherwise. I also seem to get area where adjacent terrain doesn't "fit right." Also bears noting that I "can't" update my video drivers. I've tried to do so a handful o
The SB is the best really---it was my understanding that the campaign was an extensive tutorial whereas the SB gives you all the facets of elemental. of course, I might be mistaken. Anybody else care to weigh in?
Sounds about right--which is why I usually start with the campaign. Gives me a feel for the units, tech, etc, piecemeal, so it's not all thrown at me at once. It's a lot easier to figure out what everything is in the

I decided to end a war by offering a non-aggression pact instead of a peace treaty--it was accepted. Next turn I get attacked. O_o I checked the foreign relations screen and it says we're at war, but also says that we have a treaty. o_O

I had read that for the campaign, the tech tree is disabled--when I try to go to the research screen, it tells me I have no scholars. Yes, there were multiple iron mines in sight as well--two directly adjacent to my outpost in that area. (Similarly, I sited my crystal outpost right next to the crystal slag.) I just checked, and...yes, it's the beta, 1.09n. I just bought the game (retail) last night and downloaded the patch Impulse said was available.

I just bought the game last night and made sure to update it to the latest patch on Impulse before playing. I just got to Capitar, defeated the ogre, and founded an outpost. I'm at the part where I need to build a crystal foundry to collect 25 crystal...but...it won't let me build the foundry! The button to build it is grayed out, telling me I don't have the appropriate technology. I have Relias stationed in the city...and still nothing. I'm also unable to make iron mines--des
