Awakening was worth it, but that was more of an actual expansion. I think part of the reason for the DLC costs is the console - I imagine they have a hand in setting the prices, and then they'd have to match it on PC. But yeah, the DLCs for just about any game are underwhelming. It's not really unique to BioWare. I wish DLC didn't become so popular and instead they'd keep focus on making actual expansions, but with so many games now going cross-platform expansions are more difficult. Still, a
Oh come on, please disclose your arguments.
You've yet to show how it was "proven" that piracy helps the small developer. Let's see it ;)
Basically what Rincewind said. Until Linux/Mac starts making up a much, much larger portion of gamers, it's just not economic for SD to develop cross-platform.
There will be plenty of time to fix battles if they are buggy. July 16 is just the feature lock date where no new features are added and nothing is getting major overhauls. Still leaves plenty of time for Gold (several weeks) to play with tactical battles and make sure they're balanced and bug-free.
The betas so far have been downloading data from the servers, which allowed SD to tweak some stuff without having to push patches. In Beta 4 (modding) and release, all the data files will be local and the server connection won't be required.
I disagree. My sister played the dwarf origins first and I played the mage. Our understanding of the world was very different. I won't do spoilers here but the choices at the dwarf city, my understanding, isnt' really a choice for the dwarf origin characters after what was done to them. While i was torn with who to put on the throne, my sister's response was no way to one of them... because of the origin experience. Same with the Circle of Mages, there was really only one op
It doesn't bother me as much as long as they maintain a good variety of classes and skills. I mean, essentially, they're only making you use a name. Everything else is still yours. Edit: As far as the Origin Stories, let's face it, most of them were more or less gimmicks that didn't affect much of anything. I did a Dwarf Noble story, and when I was doing the Dwarven quests in their city, I got recognized once or twice during the plot, and it made no difference whatsoever.
The more steps we take away from gender binary the better. That's why its important.
It's a video game, not a model of society. It's intended purely as a form of entertainment. It is the absolute *last* thing you should look to to "take steps away from gender binary".
Trinity is just the complete package of Sins + both expansions. If you already have them individually, it's the same thing as Trinity.
Oooh, something to sweeten the deal.. Tricksy, tricksy! ;)
I can say that Random House is helping produce an in-game campaign for those who have the book. Basically, it's an RPG-ish mini-campaign that follows events from the book.
Wait, is it only going to be available to those who have the book (? not sure how that would get tracked), or just follows the events so those who don't have the book would be a bit confused?
Yep and since we/you are dictating what Brad MEANT he's not going to sacrifice balance and playability of the single player game to apease the multiplayer element. All things considered the SINGLE PLAYER game elements, changes and balances will come FIRST and FOREMOST!
I don't think you understand what you wrote. In order to "sacrifice balance" of the single player game, there has to be balance to begin with. A random generated map inherently has no balance. There's no
Ideally, I'd change the store screen so that it shows both your Sovereign and the merchant. Sovereign on the left, facing the merchant on the right. Sovereign's inventory panel listed on the left, merchant's on the right. Nice and clear :)
Remember Brad also said this game isn't geared toward multiplayer. Multiplayer is just an afterthought and an addon to apease those that want to multiplay for the fun of it. But, the core game is single player and there's not going to be much deviation from that just to apease a handful of multiplayers like yourself.
Assumptions are dangerous. First, I'm going to be playing single player pretty much exclusively. Second, you're reading into it way too literally. If Multi
Blizzard has plenty of self-imposed deadlines. A lot of B.net 2.0 features won't be ready for launch because there's no time, and they have to do it after. Quit posting nonsense.
It should totally be a game about squirrels vs raccoons.
Edit: Double post :x
If you're unable to see the writing on the wall, then I'm afraid I can't make it any clearer.
The "writing on the wall" is what's convenient for you to make your case, nothing more. For example:
The Blizzard operating in 2010 simply does not share the same goals or the same community focus as the Blizzard that launched World of Warcraft. Two things have changed since then. First, Blizzard now have more money than most small countries, which leads direct
and also that this doesn't mean that Elemental has to make the same mistake
Why are you assuming that it's a "mistake"? As was pointed out above, "human" and "woman" both have the word MAN in them, which makes "The Race of Man" a fairly accurate generalization as a more flavorful fantasy name besides "Human".
While that is true, the Director's of Blizzard hold quite a bit of power within the Vivendi 'family', and hold quite large a stake in the company as a result; Blizzard's parent company is now called 'Activision Blizzard' not 'Activision Vivendi' for example. The exact dealings struck will never be known, however the facts speak for themselves.
You've named facts that are not necessarily relevant to the deal, and made the assumption that they are. The actual fact
For once in a Online game it will be hard to find someone who looks like you if you're creative when making your character.
This has been the case in City of Heroes/Villains for ages, and more recently Champions Online and STO :P
ddd888, In your idealistic fantasy deadlines may not exist, but in the real world they do. Whether or not people feel the game is ready or not is irrelevant, it's coming out on the 24th and can't be pushed back, the gears are already rolling. Therefore, screaming that the game won't be ready isn't helping. You can twist it any way you like, but that's the simple truth.
Just started trying out beta 3 and have two questions. First are we supposed to be able to enter tactical mode when fighting other units? Because so far I haven't seen the option to go into tactical mode. How am I supposed to enter tactical mode if its working?
Tactical battles aren't in yet.
Second question- how do champions share items? I had my champions stacked together in the city, but they still couldn't give items to one another from what I saw. A
Facebook integration is a whole other thing from RealID, and is not "the real story" in a RealID thread. :P
Blizzard did the unthinkable and merged with Activision
Strictly speaking, Blizzard's parent company merged with Activision. Blizzard didn't exactly have much of a say in the matter. Their decision to force RealID on forums is strange and bad, for sure, but I also don't think Activision had much involvement in that. It seems to me like they're trying to hitch a ride on the social networking bandwagon but they're getting way too excited and not thinking things th
