3. The combat system in Elemental needs to be overhauled as well. We are in the process of eliminating action points from tactical combat in the free expansion and instead combat speed will determine initiative and so units will move based on that (rather than attacker side then defender side, the turns will be in order of combat speed and the faster the combat speed of a unit, the faster your unit is, the more turns he gets during a given round.
This will drastically i

Lets not forget there's still a huge number of people on Dialup. Do not respond with well they should shell out and upgrade to broadband. I'm sure they would if they could but their regions just don't have the infrastructure to support broadband, it just isn't available to them... Satellite maybe... But that's crazy more expensive and not as good as broadband either.
Interesting, as by EB games (Melb - CBD), they have stock on order and expecting shelf copies tomorrow - copies that are not pre-ordered but for sale to walk-ins.
Interesting indeed. Let me know if they actually have any on the shelf by Monday.
A tactical combat speed slider would hugely improve playability. In addition to a quick move/skip animations button. Another thing that would help would be the option to select another unit and order their attack while the previous one's animation is playing out. Letting it carry out it's attack semi simultaneously would be nice if its possible without creating exploits. Otherwise queueing the orders would be helpful. Also if I select another unit while and animation is running, stop the auto
Or they could have delayed the game till February and by all reports it still would have major issues at release. Additionally you wouldn't be able to play it right now and point out any such issues so it's a stable decent game when February does rock around. No the book has issues with grammar and punctuation. I read one hate filled review that comment how there's an average for 3 em dashes "—" per page. When I got the book I discovered that part is actually true. They are used
I think the fairest assessment/comparison would be to call it fanfiction. :-/ It's not gouge your eyes out terrible like some reviews suggest... But the book does have issues.
After speaking to several store managers (EB's, Game, JB's) it's ebcome clear you can only get it from the stores if you preorder it. That right it's preorder only. Additionally its not due to arrive to next month by some reports... And there is no limited edition available. It's regular only. That said I ordered the limited edition from Stardock and it arrived in the mail today. :-)
https://forums.elementalgame.com/395781 I get the impression you should shortly, but you have to notify Stardock if you got it through a source that's not listed so they can set it up.
They did for me. Several days ago in fact. There's nothing to actually download yet though. All using the code does at the moment is links the 'upcoming' bonus content to your impulse account. It will probably be a week before you actually can access anything new.
I want to upgrade my caravans with enchanted lightning cannons please. :-P Seriously though, you should be able to attach a caravan guard to them.
The bonus content is listed as follows: Elemental: Destiny’s Embers Character Pack (Xander, Geni, Nym, Galor, Ambrose, Mirdoth, Calis) [SOON] Elemental: Destiny’s Embers MAP Pack [COMING IN SEPTEMBER] Elemental: Destiny’s Embers: Part 1 – Xander & Geni [COMING OCTOBER] Elemental: Destiny’s Embers: Part 2 – Calis & Tandis [COMING NOVEMBER] Elemental: Destiny’s Embers: Part 3 – Nym & Talax [COMING DECEMBER]<
Just had a crash to desktop. Took 9 hours to have one so that's reasonably stable by comparison to last week. Anyway here is the pastebin of the debug.err http://pastebin.com/Y6ky1fgM Current Dxdiag.txt in case you need it. http://pastebin.com/Kbvh5TLb Crash occurred when pushing the end of turn button, I was due to receive a warfare brake through so it's possibly related to that pop up. I don't know if the cra
Pretty sure that's a bug.
Race creation is separate to faction creation. You'll note during faction creation you have the option to pick your race, those are also supposed to be able to be created (And have their own strengths and weaknesses I believe).
The best method of doing this is send your solders straight into the heart of an enemy city. Then build modern replacements. :-P
Given the weather conditions at sea lately I would be surprised if there are significant delays. We'll just have to keep waiting patiently for the boats to get here, then there's customs, you local postal service sorting etc.
Well, space stations in Elemental would involve a whole mananaut tech tree culminating in dropping the moon on people.
I tacked that on the end of the list as a joke but now that I think about it you could have watch towers, fortresses/castles and outposts in general that serves the same function in the game. Build them on or around resources not connected to cities to save you having to station units their, or generally mak

Now that was tech support. :-P (No I never got to do it either)

I miss the psychedelic C64 loading screens while you waited half an hour for the tapes to read. :-P

The 3D art certainly could benefit from adding some of the colour from the 2D art. The current colour pallet is rather bland. The lush grassland around town don't differ from the starting wasteland too drastically. Of course using bright colours well is hard...
"I have been chosen... By the giant metal hand in the sky!" I don't mind the feather. It's consistent with the whole writing epics on the history of the channellers theme. I tell you what though the actual selection accuracy of the cursor is a major problem though. Not just in tactical battles. I've lost count of the time I've ordered my units to move to a square (I have the grid display on) and they've started wandering off in the opposite direction to get to a square 5 grids away on
The creation of new life: "It just happens". :-P Out of curiosity is their any reason not to pump out as many children as you can? Do you have to pay upkeep on your kids? Does having large dynasty cause diplomatic tension if you aren't marrying them off? Have contraceptives been invented yet?
I rolled my eyes when I saw one post that can be summarised as: " Respectfully , I have to say agree with Spyndel... I don't like this." And a dev responded to it with "If you don't like it don't post here! Show some respect !" Over sensitive to criticism much... I mean I understand it. They're hurting and there's a salt in the wounds thing going on, but there is kind of a double standard going on. Frogboy encourages reviewers to review t
