Back in beta i private messaged him about his decision regarding the current magic system and the time and begged him to change it to a global mana pool before release. Oh well, at least they realized their mistake later. So they do learn... Now here's a funny question. For the guys who agree with Recnelis2 , please answer the following questions 1. My number one issue with this game is that it's boring. There, I said it. And if you haven't freaked out yet and are typing an angry respnose about haters, Civ-fanboys and so on, let me explain. First, look at the title. Elemental: War of magic. War. Of magic. Two spellcasters throwing fireballs at each other are just a simple fight. We are talking war . That means armies of spellcasters and magical creatures clashing together and destroying everything that gets between them.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. Guess I need it after sending six people into a fight with three settlers. Not one of my people hit the settlers even once. Not one. The settlers missed a lot too, but easily wiped out my arm. Including the hero. Which isn't a surprise, as he left his spellbook at home or something. The only spell he had was a fireball he can't use because I didn't have fire shrines. Oh, as for fertile land, what do I do if there aren't any? I found two spots near my home t
Interesting. Thanks, Lord Xia! It would be so much easier if we could create a faction and simply select the default leader there, though- Maybe make a leader and select his/her faction, too. Still, if it works as Lord Xia said, it's the second best thing. :)
Thanks, it's much easier now. I did get a different unexpected problem, though. I had just started the game, and not more than twenty turns later, a horde of ten spiders charged directly into my town and destroyed it. And that's on Normal? I have never found more than six spiders together before, and these didn't even look for my town. They knew exactly where it was. Weird.
We already have a faction creator, and we have a decent leader creator. But can we put our custom leader as the leader for our custom faction? For example, let's say I created a faction called Hyrule (from the Legend of Zelda video games). I also created a leader called Zelda. When I set Hyrule as an opponent, can I somehow make sure Zelda is their leader?
I tried building a farm a,d yes, it helped me a lot. But can they only be built on fertile land? There aren't much of that around... And btw, I don't know how much food there are in this game, but it doesn't matter. I want options. If I want a coastal town that focuses on fishing, I should be a ble to have one. We can have ship anyway, so why not use the ocean to more than transport? If that means there'll be too much food in the game, the game needs to be rebalanced. ;)
Oh... crap, I forgot about farms. [e digicons][/e] Thanks, I'll go give it a new try now.
I tried playing Normal first, then Easy. Still, it's always the same: - I build a town, go on an adventure, fight a few bandits and monsters and pretty much just have some fun. But after a little while the town starts to run out of food and money, and I can't get more no matter what I do. I need food to increase the population (it's beenup to 60 at most), but to get food, I need money to build mills and all that. But because I can't get a bigger population, I can't get the food

I'm still looking for things to delete 2 weeks after purchase.
If you ask me, the first thing you could delete is Mass Effect 2. It's one of the most disappointing games I have played the last ten years, only topped by Dragon Age. BioWare used to be my favorite, but I've lost all respect for them. I don't even think The Old Repub
Ah, I see. And if you are willing to mod the game, you can have flying viking ships too? ;) What I mean is even if you can do some stuff like that, it should be a lot easier to do. In GalCiv2, you simply clicked Design Ship and got everything right there. Why then does it have to be so darn complicated to do even less in Elemental?
I love Elemental, and I love creating stuff. I had a lot of fun creating ships in GalCiv 2, but spaceships aren't really my thing. They are too... distant, in a way. I mean, if you blow up a spaceship and kill dozens, does it matter? You get a fancy explosion, but that's it. If you kill someone on the battlefield in Elemental, you get up close and personal and see the enemy fall in front of you. It's a lot more fun- (I'm not a sadistic psycho! Ask my shrink!) Only the sovereign does. It's like a person who can't speak. He/she might be able to write excellent speeches, or help someone else to do so, but wouldn't be able to deliver them Actually magic often use a vocal part, so if you can't speak, you can't cast most types of magic. I agree that female armor should be sexier. Or not just the armor, but females in general. I tried playing a female sovereign, but I had a hard time not making her look like a ladyboy. You know, female upstairs, male downstairs. The female faces should be sexier, with some makeup, better facial features and so on. At least some of their lighter armor like robes and shirts should have a cleavage at least. It's small details, but it would make the game a lot more fun and varied. I managed to ma
I see what you both mean, but you are both missing the point. The sovereign is the only one who can cast magic at first, but that's because they needed to balance the gameplay. The story was made for the game, not the other way around. Or in plain english, they shouldn't let the NPC's be able to study magic if they can't allow them to use magic. Rath, your example made even less sense. No offense. I didn't mean Lita or the sovereign was a gunsmith. I meant it more literally.
Thanks, I don't have a problem with auto-battles when it's just one on one. I do need to control bigger battles, though. As for Lita, I just think it's weird a person who studies the arcane can't cast spells. It's like a gunsmith who can't shoot a gun.
Yeah, a flaw makes some sense. "It's not a bug, it's a feature." [e digicons]:)[/e] I tried to restart and create a sovereign all over again, and this time I got a few funny results. If I had only the sovereign, I can't enter combat mode at all. All the fighting takes place automatically on the map. To compensate, my sovereign hit the enemy so hard he flew backwards and landed in the next square. Not bad for a spellcaster. :D When I have more characters, I can enter combat mode
It's not a bug? So I am supposed to miss 90% of the time and don't stand a chance against a weak enemy?
I like the idea of a familiar. Maybe let the Kingdom choose between a whole bunch of them, and let the Fallen choose between a whole bunch of other ones? Plus, maybe we could alter them a bit, like adding clothes and/or armor, change their skin/fur color and so on? It will only be cosmetic stuff, but it would add a little touch to them.
I bought the limited edition and got a lot of cool stuff in the box, including a minature tin dragon. So yeah, they are probably in the game somewhere. :)
This is a weird problem, but annoying as hell. I was playing a mincer, or whatever they care called. (sorry, I forgot.) I focused on spells, picked Fire and Warlord when creating my sovereig, so I would start with two (rather useless) soldiers and a few spells. When I started the game, I was placed right between a spot of fertile land, a gold mine and a marble mine. Yay! But building cities are boring, so I wandered around and had some fun for a while. I got in several fights, but my thrusty
