I just had this problem too for the second time in second consecitive game. It seems after playing for several hours and leaving the game when you come back to load the saved game it can't without crashing. I just sent the info to Stardock. Thanks for any help. I understand your all hard at work on TA so whenever you get to this problem thats fine thanks.

The planet quality bonus event is in the game I just haven't seen it for the last several games wondering if it was changed in a patch?
Maybe I missed this but in the beta release of TA will we gradually get the new features also or will it just be the race tech trees as laid out in your planned timeline?
okay okay I guess everyone has said anythanks they wanted to. we do appreciate all the work you do for us
Twilight will be have of both
thank you
Just looking to see if this has been a change over the last several patches. Doesn't really affect my game just looking for clarification being I haven't noticed this in any change logs. Has there been a change to the major events such as the precurser artifact that increases the planets quality with-in so many sectors of the location. I used to get this event somewhat often in my games and I haven't seen it lately at all. That and New Minor Races haven't been popping up either. Mi
That was exactly my point thanks for backing me up I really notice this when I'm playing with the max players in the game with the max minor races and especially then if the Jagged Edge shows up on top of that or any other minor race pops up. However, I do admidt new minor race events have been lacking in my games as of late.
okay yesterday we added a lot of comments to this post great job to everyone however, I think there is more people out there that can use this to tell Brad and everyone else the great job they're doing. Let's not let this post dye come on everyone we can do it.
Oh and I just noticed this because I checked this prior to loading the game after work Thanks for the 1.8b update even though we probrably didn't deserve it Don't know what it does I'm assuming it had something to do with one of the issues in the threads over the weekend don't even know if it is directly related to this thread could be making a fool of myself but thanks anyways
Hey, they won yesterday. Word is they are going to win 10 this season. Think that will be enough to take the division? - Wyndstar
Not a chance, Detroit has struggled more against avereage teams than most of the other one or two loss teams have. After all look at the eagles game what was the sc
come on everyone is this all we've got. I know more of you guys appreciate all the hard work everyone does for stardock.
Over the weekend I thinkg the Devs especially frogboy have gotton a lot of slack because of a few minor issues. This post is designed in nature for all those who want to tell them how happy we all are with thier hard work on this game on continuing to make this game better and thier continued work on the upcoming expansion. Hip hip array for all thier hard work congratulations to all
first of all to frogboy I'm sorry if any of my comments on my post were beyond acceptable. I did not mean anything negative toward you or anyone else exept for galla.... who was insulting to you. My origional post was bringing up a change that I didn't see in the change log about the habitable planets in v1.8 if that was by design in nature or a bug. You clearly answered this by releasing v1.8a with-in 24hrs. which I appreciate. The only reason I continued to reply to the replies that I got
Does no one else agree with me maybe it's not something people really care about oh well just an idea.
Come on frogboy. This game was no where near done when it came out. It's been in constant beta.
I disagree it's always been a great game just as you said and keeps getting better for the most part with some setbacks that I'm sure like always will be fixed especially this one with as much backlash as they're getting.
Don't get me wrong it's a great game.
I agree one of the smart things you said.
Here you are coming out wit
To frogboy
However, I want to point out that some of you really need to get a grip. It is exactly the crappy attitude shown by some people here that results in updates being non-free.
First of all I say thank you for your quick response and I appologize if any of my comments were taken in a bad way. Other than that I think I speak for most of the people out here are just giving constructive critisizm and really didn't mean that you were killing the game ju
okay I tried it again. This is what I found out. In the metaverse game which this is the cheats appear not to work. When I started a new regular game/ non metaverse these cheats worked fine in fact I find it kind of intreging that this might be able to allow one to play them selves although time consuming. Still I am at a loss on further figuring this out.
okay I did add cheat to the end of the shortcut like on one of my other posts showed me however, this did not seem to work "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe" cheat. I started the game with the shortcut and nothing happened as if I never enabled the cheat??? thanks for the quick response. I feel sorry for you not having anything else to do on a friday night
Try using the Ctrl-Shift-Z cheat to check out what techs the Drengins have, and whether heavies are red/yellow/green from their point of view.
to kryo - tried this nothing seemed to happen everything appeared to be the same as the picture above shows. No text box showed me any other info. do I have to do something to get this to work? Thank you.
The change in habitable planets was a quick change made by Brad to try and reduce the out of memory issues, which get reported a lot, even by people on great systems. We've really run out of easy ways to eliminate memory usage. With Dark Avatar, you actually have a lot more habitable (although some requiring techs) planets than in DL because previously there were no class 1-4 planets. Now, those exist, but they are far more likely to be a world requiring a tech to colonize.
more race portrats / logos. Not mods so you can use them in the meteverse.
Do YOU have Heavy Gravity Colonization yourself? If yes, then it won't show up in their Tech list in the diplomacy screen because you can't buy it(you would already have the tech). To check, click on Viewscreen and choose Tech Report to see if they have it and aren't selling it to you.
to answer this I quote myself from the begining of this post.
I haven't even got to even think about getting any of that technology yet because no one even has had extreme
A civ won't list all of it's techs in the trade window. This is fairly easy to see when you have reached a high level of espionage with them, and compare what you find with what is offered in the trading window. So, it is very possible that the Drengin possess those techs, and just aren't showing them. Then again, who knows, it could very well be a bug.
Yeah I never heard of them not showing thier techs in the trade window, after all I can't hide my techs from them as lo
To non-beta testers, This is definitely a bug in the final release. Even under the last beta with the cap in place, there weren't these poor numbers of habitable planets. Provide all the detailed information you can and give them some time to find and fix it. You're talking about Stardock here: the best company on the face of the planet (make that "in the galaxy" (Medium, Abundant)). The beta played wonderfully.
Did you try to start a game in beta 4, be
