For Hybrid games Deus Ex in my opinion is still king (System Shock 2 and and Thief series are amazing too.)Now Mass Effect 2 is another bioware hit. Ya its a good buy. I would also pick up ME1 too (if your going to get ME2.) So you have a Character to bring with ya for the trilogy (ie all those choices adding up.) It has good narrative, story-driven, lot of backround info you can read up, music and sound is great. The inventory isnt as big as Deus Ex (more so in ME2.) Combat wise ME s

Make it optional for both! You want fast games (sov dies game over) and you want long games(sov dies next in line child gets his/her powers.) I mean more options in my opinion are better. Dont see how this could hurt the game. I know I'll play with both options.
