There is a new beta that's been published for BootSkin Pro that should help alleviate some frustration. However, there is one thing that has been discovered that will break BootSkin that is out of our control and is squarely on the shoulders of the user. In the Regional and Language Options menu under Control Panel, there is the Administrative tab, under which allows you to change the "Language for non-Unicode programs" locale. If this is set to a locale that

Do you have an international edition of Vista? Or are you using an English version with a locale outside of the US? What are your language and locale settings?

No error messages so far, but everytime I boot up, for me the Vista Aura Screen appears too. No selected bootskin is shown. Please help.
Unfortunately, there is a separate issue for users with international versions of Vista. This issue is currently being investigated as well, but at this time we don't have an ETA for a fix.

It appears the true root of the problem has been for users with an English version of Vista that were using a non-US locale (such as the UK). Unfortunately, the code that was looking for the location of the winload.exe.mui file ended looking in the wrong folder because it was assuming there would be a folder for that locale on the system, which there is not always. However, there has been a beta released that should address this issue. Please let us know if you are still hav
I've been researching the procedure for replacing the boot image, and it seems the location of the file differs depending on the locale, which may explain why it doesn't show up properly on my swedish Vista x64. I have a feeling it currently works properly on a US version of vista only... (Atleast when it comes to the non-ultimate versions). It's just a guess though, don't flame me if I'm wrong
Be s
Am I right in assuming that Fences doesn"t like Dreamscapes or vice versa? Other than that works perfecly on my XP machine
That is correct - there are some issues with Fences and DeskScapes on Windows XP. Hopefully, these will be resolved in the future, but for now, they do not play perfectly together.

My wife was at the store and decided to buy Spore since we were both wanting to play it very much. We even skipped out on going to the movies to make it part of our night. That was all shot to hell however by the terrible DRM EA has decided to package with Spore. Normally, I'm ok with install limits and such since I usually don't play a game on multiple systems and I rarely re-install a game more th

"Constrain proportions" has been re-worded as "Maintain Aspect Ratio" and will be in a forthcoming patch. The custom icon size is a good idea. I'll have to look into adding it in a future update.

The issue with the hue shift is a misconception that it's meant to change the color to the one you're selecting. What it actually does is shift the current hue(s) selected toward that color, which is more of an additive approach than a replacement. The issue with the error message displaying is something else entirely. That's a bug. Could you give me any more information on what happened exactly leading up to it and how frequently it occurs? This could be why your icon package isn't

jlien24, if you're running Vista, you need to run Impulse with Administrative privileges, which you can do by right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting the "Run as administrator" context menu option.

Also make sure that your video card driver is up-to-date. You can do this via NVIDIA's site or use Impulse's Driver page under the Community tab.[link="http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us"]WWW Link[/link]

There has been a new patch released for IconDeveloper that fixes a few bugs that caused crashes and also reduces the application's memory usage. It is available from both SDC and Impulse. We prefer you use Impulse because it's pretty.
