Come on!
Hey Brad Who cares about modders (like shadows :P). I agree, if a game is good, people will mod it. Too many dabblers, the pros can work around the heavy stuff. GalCiv 2 had the best AI I have played against. I hope FE can be worked to the same degree AI is what really separates Stardock games imho, it's your competitive advantage!
Question - Do we have to hire a champion? Is there an option to not hire one? Also ? over the divided XP, it might make player stacks too strong, esp since the AI may not stack champions
Any update on the AI for FH:LE Brad?
This looks awesome! So many changes, hope more are on the way. This is exactly what FE needs, more variety, especially loving the monstrous heroes as well. This gives the game that high fantasy feel. Like the change to Commander from Governor as well. Great work, hoping you guys continue to build on FE to make it the epitome of 4x fantasy strategy
Awesome, looking forward to this
Finally an update. I said it first Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Shadows. To think this is holding up the release is ridiculous. Sorry but you guys need a reality check 95% of your player base couldn't give a rats about shadows. You guys need some customer metrics or data. Brad talked about shadows incessantly in the promo video, what gives? Reality check guys. Endless space UI is a work of art, in fact I bought t
Been 1 week since this video... Any update?
Agreed, didn't come here to talk about Stardrive. An update would be nice...
that's a point but minor. games on smartphones look a hell of a lot better, that's major
DW has great economics, leaders etc with both expansions. Problem i found with DW is the automation makes it more like watching then playing, and you can't not automate or it's micromanagement city and you spend more time in pause than actually seeing things happen But stardrive is better for everything else, the races in DW are bleh and so are the graphics. A perfect 4x space game would blend the two nicely, if DW had a graphics upd
Turn based works better for fantasy games I think, real time is great for the space genre with ships flying around, lasers zapping and fleets etc, it feels a hell of a lot more "Alive". Not sure if fantasy games can achieve the same thing, let's just say the real time combat is a real strength like SoaSE. Turn based just doesn't cut it in the combat department. Also real time is a lot more challenging and late game doesn't get bog
I love the new features, but the video is a terrible sell, we need to see new features WTF cares about shadows? You'd think this was Fallen Enchantress Legendary SHADOWS!
I think it's good, still needs a fair bit of work and balancing, but the engine is there and the basic framework for legendary status. IMHO once it's fleshed out with more random events and other things to make the universe alive, better diplomacy and AI like GalCiv 2 (which is the benchmark in these two things by a long shot), random and racial tech trees, improved ground combat & UI and tweaked pacing it will be legendary. One thing I really like is
Frosty you do speak sense. However delayed gratification does not sit well with my generation or those to come.
I got into the Eador Masters of a Broken World Beta 2 last night. I'll be playing that this weekend. I'd love FH as well so I can compare and contrast!
Cash ready!
Nooo!!!!!! What's an unemployed person to do? You do know that this has an adverse effect on society!
When's the beta out, I want to part with my money!
Great thread, just what I needed. Thanks so much kongdej! This is fantastic work you have done. The vanilla designs are pretty lame (sorry Brad) given that: 1. Customing units is one of FE's strong points and 2. Racial diversity is appalling. I really think unique Race techs and races/units with a high fantasy feel needs to be implemented. The all humans thing ge
Well I think it would be an aspect that would make LH quite immersive. Also I'm sure I remember Sun Tzu mentioning something about the weather and it's important effect on waging war! It will add that random element that can give veteran players a real surprise and challenge. Spells that can change weather to give armies favourable outcomes would also tie in nicely. I hope they consider it, even as an expansion, or paid
Thanks for the replies guys & Jon! I think Shogun Total War 2 had a nice seasonal effect visually, but that was about it. No comment from Derek :(
Hi Something I saw while browsing the AoW3 forums was the request for a weather system. I thought this would be great for LH. It could be both hazards, like volcanoes, tornadoes, floods to things like poor visibility, day/night cycle for tactical battles, rain which slows movement etc. I think one thing FE lacks is the 'alive' living feeling. These kinds of things would really bring it to life more and serve as a great differentiator. <br
