After much anticipation I bought this game on day one and have been patiently waiting for Stardock to polish it up. I've not been critical that it wasn't ready for prime time upon release, most games aren't these days. But after months of intermitent playing, and waiting, I just think this game is dull and I am not playing it anymore. Swing and a miss but no hard feelings. Spring is here and time for some real games that can be played outdoors.

Not for me. Though I want to like it. I'm finding that it is not stable and though I have a computer with far more of everything than the game's system requirements call for, it still crashes. And stardocksupport is very slow to respond, and requires you jump through too many hoops to make it worth the effort. They told me to install something that would analyze my computer and would post a zip file on my desktop, then email it to them but the zip file is
Thanks for responding, shadowtongue. I agree the terms I used are subjective and if I were a better writer I'd have zeroed in with more objective language. Ultimately it's a trial by error, buy a game and see if you like it situation. But I respect the views in the forum and read them to gauge whether it's worth shelling out the cash for a game. I do like the initial Starcraft games, <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl20__LinkUser" class="hand" title="Click us
Agree with LX. I couln't get into MoM for long as once you got to Paladins it was game over. Just like EWoM, once you get certain level of armor and weapons your tanks/champions are unstoppable. That being said, I really liked, and still do, the first Master of Orion. And the first XCOM. They ain't too pretty by today's standards, but they are fun games that can be challenging and have that "just one more turn" quality that wears well over time, IMHO
I have Sins but don't play it. Also have GalCivII and don't play it. Have Elemental and won't play it due to all the bugs, crashes, dreadful customer support, etc. Pattern developing. Don't play the first two because there is something about these games that I can't quite put my finger on, but I don't find them immersive. I just don't invest anything in them. Games should be fun, and part of what makes it fun for me is connecting with what is happening in the gam
I've been experiencing crashes and OOM reports for version 1.11 and am trying to send you the debug file and my most recently saved game. How do I share my dropbox folder with Stardock so that you can access the files? And I can't find the Windows 7 folder C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic . I see a "program files" folder and a "program files (x86)" folder but nowhere do I see a "programdata" folder on the c drive or in my doc
Version v1.11 is the current released version of the game and is very stable.
Not for me I'm afraid. Bought a new hi-end gaming computer last fall with Windows 7 and I'm playing on a large map with 3 AI opponents and I'm regularly getting OOM errors and the game is crashing every 30 minutes or so. I am not running any other programs while playing EWOM. This isn't happening with my other PC games.</p
Thanks for your reply. I had the basic concepts down regarding your post, but needing citizens to improve a resource tile was new to me. Now if I found a city near a resource tile that needs citizens I make sure that is my first build, then I start building other stuff. 1.11 is like a whole new game. Looking forward to, and hoping, that ver 1.2 takes care of the out of memory problem. Regards.
Bought the game when it was released, decided to follow the advice to wait till v.1.1 was released so now I'm giving the game a serious try. Can someone explain the negative citizens business? Advice in the forum is to spam studies or other buildings, but then I get into the red with citizens and can't build other things, like shards (mouse roll over tells me I need 10 citizens to build on the shard). Thanks.
