Use Cone of Cold whenver you can, and then get some Crit based characters up against it - crits on coned creatrues can either destroy them outright, or deal massive damage - also, it holds them in place, making it easier. A general note of warning though when dealing with dragons. dont clump up and stand together in front of it - The dragon will think its very nice of you though, but I'm not sure your characters will ;-) Spread out, tank it, heal your tank, and dps from sides
Razgon
Dont bother with the locked chests - mostly its just elfroot, deathroot, or some tier 1 weapon... All the good loot is either dropped by mobs or freely available to everyone. Oh - one thing to look forward to, is dragons hoard loot - now THAT is fun :-D As someone mentioned, right now there is a memory leak in the game, causing many people to experience some sort of lag, longer loading times and so on after some extended playtime (around 1 hour for most people) Restarting the gam
Was that a bit of Impulse advertising there ID? ;-) Anyways - played a lot of Warhammer Online, got a few chars up to lvl 11 to do some fun open RVR with, and some Majesty which I just bought over Impulse. Impulse is pretty damn nice to have , especially with these old games! ;-)

really? So you ARE trying to troll? I asked you a legit question, because you sprout grand words in order to sound sophisticated, but when called on it, you just turn to harrasment and belitteling? Anyways - have fun in the basement today
Quoting endofdayz, reply 25 In another thread a SD dev said they would never sacrafice gameplay for graphics Well, I think that's just a false dichotomy fallacy, breaking the game like that into such inherently codependent elements and than opposing them to each other. It doesn't make any sense.
actually, to me your post makes no sense whatsoever. Can you elaborate on it?
I seriously doubt people will buy refrain from buying a game because there isnt a super duper fantastic trailer for it... As Bingjack said, Galciv 2 didnt need it, Sword of the Stars didnt need it, and this game is in the same vein... More focus on game mechanics and less on trailers I'd say...
Say what?? Since when have you ever seen a review that gave bad scores based on the intro movie? The game is what counts, not the intro. That being said, some trailers are pure cgi animation and does wonders for advertising. I still remember the first time I saw the first Hellgate trailer..good stuff, but thats another example of great intro and poorer exectution of game.
Orchestral music, themed to Light&Dark would be cool!
I always get a giggle from Civilization's scoring system, where you get a title "the Terrible", "The Conquerer", "The Pathetic" excetera, based on your score.
the same way that Pirates did it - I still rememember the first time I got a score there - low 30's I think, and it was accompanied by a text that said that "You die a lonely, bitter man" :-D
How did you get 117% on MoM? I once won 87 -0 in Tecmo super bowl. The quarters are "5 min" unadjustable. 5 min is in quotes because 1 second of real time = 3-4 seconds of game time.
by playing on...was it Hard?? The highest possible difficulty - believe me, I was proud and told everyone in school about it the day after :-D
I miss high-score lists, when I've completed a game. Especially high scores like in games like Master of Magic (I still rmember the first time I got 117 percent) and Pirates... this game screams highscore lists! Its what people talk about when they have completed the game, and it gives something to strive for as well. so, in short - give us highscores, please
One way to do it, would be to set up your mage against the opponents mage, and select "Countermagic" for instance, rendering the other mage countered - the one with the higher power level or however it will turn out to be, will be able to counter the other
Thanks Denryu , although, I just now noticed I'd forgotten a word right before vein :-D nice idea about having to have the heroes join you before you could get the sword. The only thing that worries me about that, is that it becomes more complex, and perhaps harder to make magic items, if you can set conditions like that, but y
Played Bloodbowl, Mount'n Blade (Awesome awesome game, esepcially with the mods) and Warhammer Online - still a fun game, especially in the early tiers :-)
Normally, when we play games like this, we can affect one thing on the map only, and thats the placement of cities. Now, as this is a STARDOCK game, we all know that its going to be special, and that things will appear that have never been seen before - thus, I proudly presents an idea - Persistent world alterings! I want to be able to influence the way the world looks. It might be all lush forests and plains in the immediate surroundings when I start, but being the firemage I am, mol
One thing that would help immensely to flesh out the personality of the game, and add to immersion , would be the addition of unique heroes with background info. Now, a hero with just a name, like that X guy from Master of Orion 2 and the special art unique to him would do wonders, but a little blurp with some info would be great as well. it could be anything actually, either some background story/lore about the personality of the hero, or even just a quote, as is seen on many cardgame cards
aye, there should be no sudden death penalty, I agree completely. Another way to look at this, could be that IF you owerpowered your magic, you'd be rendered powerless (in that particular sphere?) for a few turns for instance. That would still make it dangerous, but worth the while I just like the idea that there is no such thing as free lunch - you pay for what you get
So, couldnt really find anything about this anywhere, and it may be a bit early, since magic wont find it's way here until fall as I understand it. I've always loved Steven Eriksons take on magic - basically, its dangerous. Very dangerous, and capable of destroying armies at its highest levels, but also very taxing, and dangerous for the wielder. You might end up being consumed if the power you try to control, slip from your fingers. This I would like to see in the game as wel
