This is really the worst forum color scheme I've seen in a while. Sorry, but its hard to read, looks a bit juvenile (Black and red), and is nowhere near as friendly in general on the eyes as the old one. Its also very very easy for people to see that its not a work related site now ;-) Can we at least get an option? And why is the Elemental:_ War of Magic logo right in the middle of the screen on top of everything all the time?

I am really looking forward to this - mainly to see if the many things people are wanting have been implemented. I see some of the magic spells have new names, thats a start. I do fear, however, that all the talk of "this will enter the expansion" is a result of the game not really being ready for the public on august 24th. By public I mean the general public of which the fans here arent part. I'd love for elemental to be succesfull, and right now, as I've posted
Well, I havent received any code - a shame, there's a few games I'd have liked to buy
I'm pretty sure they'll make cool stuff like this. After all, I'm thinking they'll need more than "You found a rusty sword!" for the single-player campaign.
maybe - I just havent heard anything about it, but then again, abilities wont be added until 4th beta I think..that could be the place for it
Should we have received the mail by now? with the coupon that is?
A good story, for a Beta, but it's a bit ridiculous that you can get one guy to singlehandedly defeat an entire empire for you, no ? Seems to me the games needs some serious hero balance...
Thats classic MoM - Torin could do this with a few spells as well...nothing could stop him once he had a few levels
edit: nevermind
Since its been a while since I suggested this the last time, here we go again. I'd love a highscore list of some sorts, not unlike what MoM had to make sharing stories of the game more interesting. Well,. my first post basically says it all. Just wondering when something like this has to be incorporated into the code before it gets too difficult. Also, Brad has mentioned elsewhere that you will get world achievements for some reasearch - does this extend to the Xbox style achi
I tried searching for this, but didnt see any recent posts about it, so thought it was time to talk a bit about flavor for magic items. This is a game that should ooze character and atmosphere due to its spiritual predecessor, and one area where I think its kinda lacking right now, is the magic items. I would love it if we had some unique items for our heroes, with flavor text for instance, kinda like we already have for heroes. I imagine re-using the code for how heroes are represent
I would love love LOVE it if Elemental had the same kind of Lorebook that Warhammer online has - everytime you get into contact with something, it appears with a small story attached in the lorebook. Simply such a great moodsetter.
Thats true, but since you can do so in offline mode,it means that you wont loose all your games should steam mysteriously disappear.
You do know you can do the same thing with Steam right? You can archive and save your games to disc or whatever you want to. Just grab steambackup.exe as well and you are good to go if Steamworks should ever explode
When Canned food made its foray into the modern world, people claimed it was the end of cooking - This is roughly the same. There are some major advantages to the way Onlive works (Lesser computers playing high-end games to name one), and what will be interesting to see, is both the consumer reaction and then the distributor reaction, for if consumers are positive, Distributors must take not, and act accordingly. Whether we want it or not, digital distribution is here to stay,
My updating from normal to LE edition cost me as much in shipping as the product itself...sigh...
I do believe that unfortuantely, there is a TON of money in casual games, which is why I react like the above :-D Just look at the horrible, horrible games like Cevony and Farmville, which have millions of users everyday. I'd hate for the company I respect the most to go that way, purely because of the money. heh, and yeah, Ipads seems like pretty fun toys...I'm just oldfashioned I think, and think games should be played on PC's, or consoles for that matter :-)
That's all very good news for Stardock and fans I think . Two questions if I may. 1. Do you think you'll enter the market selling iPad or Phone games? I'm sure some of your earlier games might run on these platforms and you could probably make a Lot of money there. There isn't any "Big Name Game Developers" making phone or iPad games that I know of (admittedly I don't know the market for those).
<p
So, if Ubisofts servers are down, you'll also be unable to play their games? Nice...
well, thats fine - if only they'd stop sending me mails about it then, when I cant buy it.
Man, I've been playing too much Mass Effect 2- I was sure you asked if the game should over if Sovereign from Mass Effect 1 died..
The one I remember the most is probably the first city you come to in Assasins Creed, whilst standing on the mountain trail, looking down on that enourmous city, seeing people milling about, and realizing, I could go there, and do whatever I wanted. Now, I think that what makes cities/places unique for most people, is interactivity - the ability to *change* the city, and put your mark on it. I was actually thinking about the first CIV game last night, and how each time you pro
Quoting clownkill, reply 8 Quoting joasoze, reply 7Its way too early to expect being able to preorder in shops. I would guesstimate a release late next year. Patience young gamer...Retail pre order are at least 12 months away. I don't see the beta finishing before december 2010 lol game is supposed to hit shelves in August...
not really...It seems by now a pretty safe estim
A great idea - One thing to add to that though, is that you should allow for customizing outfit /appearance as well. Its one of the big selling points in practically every game, and if you look at forums about for instance games like Dragon Age, you can see people spending 30-60 minutes creating their character there as well. While this is a strategy game, its also a game where your central character IS your channeler, and as such, you should be able to make him / her / it(?) look lik
I actually find magic to be wayyy to powerfull - that black spell, cant remember the name of it, decimates my ranks often, so that before I even clash with the other army, I'm missing 2-3 units. While the AI may be weak, I frankly struggle with the combat, no clue as to why- perhaps I try and play it too much like a TW game instead of playing it as it is, a game of its own. There's one battle where I am kinda stuck, where Merlin returns..I wont say anymore, but...I cannot win, n
So....Who's going to remake DA with the elemental engine? ;-)
I blame Dragonage for any delays ;-)
