I agree that anyone that doesn't want multiplayer should neither have to pay for it nor be inconvienced in the slightest.

True, but I feel safe in saying that "no carriers" certainly wasn't one of them. I thought you said: And with that, WOO! no more carriers/bombardment do I need to read, ever! Admit it, it's nice
inelibly I don't usually mind bad spelling, but usually I have some vague idea of what was meant. In this case did you mean "indelibly" or "inedibly"? In either case I still have no clue as to what you meant. BTW wasn't this thread locked with the arrival of the multiplayer dead horse thread?
For 1.4 they are promising that morale buildings will have more punch but be much more expensive. That doesn't help much. This isn't quite what they said, they said the morale effect would be increased but the techs to get them would be MUCH more expensive. I see this as a beneficial change. I currently don't use the buildings because (1)
Since this is the deadest of the dead horse threads, I thought this picture belongs here.
I would like to see Multiplayer in whatever form possible. I would be happy to pay for a seperate expansion or add-on to get multiplayer. I wouldn't want to make any compromises in the integrity of the single player game. Any compromise needed should be made in multiplayer functionality. I would probably play multiplayer infrequently at most, but I would definitely like the option. [edit] I can't believe that I got in first on this thread. P.S. If
may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb? Exactly.
if you have the ability to do something amazing, why would you bother doing something tiny and insignificant Close but's it's really more make the benefit worth the punishment. To go to prision because you stole a loaf of bread is stupid, because if you get away with it you'll only have to steal another one tomorrow and the day after. But if you
It hardly is equal to a FELONY ??? There was no harm intended, my point was merely, make the crime worth the time. In this case a felony is better than a misdemeanor. I am in a war with the Dreng. They out number me,
Oh yeah, this is another one I tried. Save game named - Fleet Battle. I played the same battle over again 5 times. I won each time in a 4 vs 4 frigate fleet contest. Two times I lost 3 of 4 ships, two more I lost 2 ships ...But one time I only lost 1 ship. This will now be standard during fleet operations. Hehehehehe There's cheese and then there's j
Got some basic statbot functionality set up If that's basic functionality, what will complete functionality do? Make your breakfast and shine your shoes? Wow!
Buy a MOral Building right off to offset the changes I refuse to buy any morale buildings on principle. The principle being that I never had to buy any in v1.2 and I'm pig headed enough to continue that strategy. Actually I'm sort of joking but I jus
4 to 1 is probably right on if you tag on loose vs tight. These are rule of thumb guidelines at best. On the gigantic abundant loose I've seen anywhere from 450 to 510. I assume there's equivilient level of variation in other game sizes.
The 8B starting population vs. 5B is a big difference. Plus your home planet being able to grow to 12B without a farm vs. 10B is also a difference. I've checked some of the population points and it seems that the base morale of a set population hasn't changed. I suspect that the morale effect of taxes has been increased. I know the benefits of the economic buildings have been reduced, the income produced by a set amount of population may also have gone down. These things combine to get
Cheese rating=Velveeta That's good. I assume Velveeta is rather high (or should that be low) on the cheese scale. How would this compare to sponge bob square pants mac and cheese for example?
Well I did say I would "attempt" to employ it, but sometimes trying something new can be challenging!! I didn't mean to "tattle" on you and Jasamcarl to Cari. But speaking someones name can indeed cause them to appear. I did look back through the posts and it really wasn't you that started the name calling. There was nothing in your first po
Yes, it would be great to "fix" the existing metaverse - but how? You are never going to please everyone, and numerous or regular recalcs just annoy many long term players rather than balance things for the newcomers I thought my proposal was a reasonable "how". But you're right about numerous and regular recalcs, you don't want to be making cons
I'm just saying that it's not necessary to bad mouth SEV on this site. Whether SEV is a bad game or a great game or something in between doesn't make GC2 any better or worse. I personally think that GC2 is the best game ever. But I also think that bashing another company's product on Stardock's site is kind of trollish. If you don't have anything good to say, then say nothing at all.
in your case there will be only one defense roll instead of 3 Yes you're correct, thanks for the clarification. One point in the Wiki article is incorrect and that is both attack and defense can have 0 value rolls. I recently performed a test using a ship with one point of attack in each of the three catagories against a ship with no defense
Glad I already pre-ordered the expansion to GalCiv2 I also will have pre-ordered Dark Avatar (note the future pluperfect tense). I'm glad you've pre-ordered it as well, but it's not necessary to bash SEV here, I'm sure they'll get their bugs fixed.

But in regards to this alternate MV. It could be anything at all if it doesn't replace the current MV. But I think the desire for an alternate MV is a reflection that the current MV is broken. It's not right that people need to start over or reset characters that they've spent a large amount of time developing because they only get 25% or even less of any new score posted. I don't think you can have any kind of MV without at least some implied form of ranking. If it's high scores of a p
Good morning Diplomat. Haven't seen you at the Core recently Mumble, good to see you here. I've been checking in now and then. My first v1.31 game is keeping me real busy, at first I thought I had no chance but it's gradually turning around, it may be my best game ever by the time I'm done with it. I do have some useful data that I've been
You need the Starbase Fortifications techs to add the modules needed for attack and defense of the starbase itself. The Starbase Defenses path allows starbase modules that assist ships attack and defense. There are also a few random weapons techs that enable miscellaneous modules from both branches. I've never used the Starbase Fortifications path, I don't think it's really effective. I just dedicate a fleet for the starbases's protection. The battle station series that adds all weapons
