Hi, Do you have .NET installed? If not, please download it from here and install it then try Impulse again. Zargon
Thanks. It appears that my .NET install was a pretty big mess - there was 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 all installed in one big jumble. Anyway, uninstalling them all and then reinstalling 3.5 allowed me to run and install Impulse properly. Now downloading the game. Cheers!

Cheers, will do
If you're having impulse installation issues, please contact [email protected] directly and they should be able to get things squared away for you.
Cheers will do. As for firewall exceptions, etc. The application fails to install properly. It appears that the app tries, and fails, to launch before the installation has even finished. The computer is an old piece of shit running Windows XP SP3 - but I had Impulse

So, after deciding to wait for version 1.10 before picking up Elemental again I find myself in a bit of a perculiar situation. I fully realise this might not be the proper forum for this. However, since Elemental is the only reason I would have to even deal with the issue at hand it's fair enough. Anyway, this is the issue: Impulse doesn't work . It's as simple as that. I downloaded the ins

As I understand it a lot of negotiations were undertaken with the intent of Stardock pretty much redoing MoM - however, these negotiations came to nothing and Stardock went on to do their own thing. Now, obviously since other people own the copyright, there's a limitation as to how far they can emulate the MoM mechanics without running the very real risk of a copyright infringement suit (I'd expect - I'm no expert on these matters, but it seems you can pretty much sue anyone for anyth

Look, it's all good with the screenshots and all. And I understand, although do not share, the gripe that some people have with battles not being epic enough insofar as troop numbers are involved. However, I'm just saying that it seems to me that added tactical complexity might easily be implemented by adding special characteristics to troops depending upon weapon selection.

Would it be possible to implement special abilities tied to equipment? For instance, I've seen monsters who do not counter attack and I've seen monsters whose attacks doesn't allow for counter attacks. Would it be possible to introduce the same sort of concepts tied into certain weapons? Some ideas: First strike - when defending the unit deals damage to the attacker first. Charge - e.g. on lances, first attack following movement causes double damage. Armor pier

It would be nice if you had the option of picking additional traits for your champions every three levels or so. E.g. I'd like to have more than one organised adventurer who can lead an army effectively. Also, it appears that Royalty doesn't do anything at this point. I hired a couple of nobles along the way and I can see no benefit from their Royalty trait whatsoever.

First of all, thank you for making this game. Despite all the criticism that follows, please understand I wouldn't bother writing this unless I thought it was a great game with great potential. :) I'll divide this post up into several sections to make it easier to overview. Just for reference, my computer is a low-end setup: P4 3.0 GHz, 2 Gb RAM, G-force 8800 card with 512 Mb VRAM (I think), Running Windows XP - system disk is a RAID 0 setup consisting of two 70 Gb Raptor driv

Well, the higher ones expectations - the bigger the risk of being ever so slightly disappointed. I wouldn't worry yet though, provided the game mechanics are sound and the gameplay is addictive there is - if what we've been told about the modding tools is correct - so much potential for creating something epic here. However I can't yet comment of mechanics or gameplay since my download has only gotten to about 60% (at a mind-numbingly slow ~200 kB/s - being at the arse-end of the inte

As long as it's 60 useful and significant spells, then it'll be enough. Just think about how many useless spells there were in MoM - spells you never even bothered to use. If it's 60 spells along the line of healing, web and phantom warriors it'll be just fine.
You'll want to choose the download archive option rather than the standard install. You can then install via the restore archive option, and copy the archive off to do the same elsewhere. If you do not have internet access at home, you should use Impulse Anywhere to download instead.
Cool, thanks for the reply! I do have internet at home, of course! However, being at the arse-end of the trans-pacific cable means that

When we download the game through Impulse, do we get a local repository of files which can be copied to another computer for installation? I mean, if I download the game through Impulse onto my work computer, can I then copy it to my external harddrive and install it on my home computer once I get home? Thanks.

Ever considered that the guys might actually be just as excited about this whole deal as the 600 guys carpet-bombing the IRC chatroom this very moment? Screw professional/cynical marketing wisdom - go the passion.

I second (or fourth, as it may be) that. Although I am also looking forward to what Elemental will be like the second I get it installed on my computer ;)
