Maybe this is just me but I would much rather have Dominions 3 style battles where you have no control over what your units and heroes do once you enter a battle. You set up the spells your heroes are allowed to cast and how agressive you heroes and army actually are. All you can do then is watch as your armies clash and hope your plan was better then the other sides.

I happen to disagree. When 4 champions can run the gauntlet and take over city after city as well as kill any troops sent after them there needs to be something done. I also never said flanking should be a champ ability all I said was if it was in the game it would make battles more tactical.
I actually played several games last night with few crashes over 10+ hours so that in itself is a huge improvement over .75. I was trying several different strategies to see the changes from patch to patch. The most effective strat seems to be to completely ignore the military tech tree, pump up both the civic and magic tree and just "creep" with champion units and finally expand in ever direction. The AI seems to expand extremely well, however they do not use loot or
This is an early beta, the AI will improve, and much of the problem is due to balance issues. This is why betas exist, so these problems can be fixed.
This is not a "early beta". I am not trying to be mean in any way but the entire Elemental release is the beta for FE. A lot of the stuff that is cropping up should of been nailed down over the last one and a half
I have no clue how you guys are getting through 300 turns. I have get to get to 30 turns without a crash to desktop.
screen shots please
Ok so I have been playing since I finished downloading at about 3:15 est and have crashed to desktop about 4 times. All crashes appear to be random since I can load my last save and do exactly what I did before the crash and nothing seems to happen. Hopefully this issue is fixed before release.
My first few minutes were met with one big issue. Map scrolling with my mouse. Having to click to scroll around the map is annoying as hell. As a very minor note I really dislike the cloud graphics.
I got two emails. One at around 12:30 pm est and 1 around 2:20 pm est. So it looks like they are going out in batches if people have not got theres yet.
When I am declared war on by a civ that has more cities then me I shouldn't be able to completely conquer them with my king and 2 of his summons because all that have to defend with is groups of peasant wielding staffs. If I go into a tactical battle and I figure out which units are being targeted I shouldn't be able to just keep moving the targets while my archers and magic users sit back and nuke them to death. How is any of this fun for anyone?
I posted my thoughts on this game and it was nuked within 2 minutes of it getting posted. I thought I was being completely fair and honest with my review and even linked "the gamer bill of rights" that stardock posted 2 years ago. There is nothing about this game that is even remotely fun and to rely on the player base to give this game any meaningful content is just a cardinal sin in my book. I vowed that I would never buy another game from stardock after I purchased Demigo
I would like the programmers of elemental to look at my link and remember 2 years ago. Why is it we the gamers have to put up with a broken and buggy game that could of used 6 more months of tweaks. To top this off the game is boring. I have tried several times today to push myself to like this game and I just can't find anything fun about the game. The units you control and completely generic. I could have a group of War Hammer knights attack things twice for 20
I am in complete agreement with you gluce. That the game was released early is great but it was not released when we were told it would be is a let down. I am taking a chance on this game after the demigod fiasco and hope stardock can deliver something great. So far it feels just like the demigod release.
Lets be honest while beta fleshes out a lot of bugs you can almost never get them all because the player base is pretty small compared to release. I am just glad stardock is back in the strategy field and away from the Dota field. Hopefully this game is the sorry for the money I spent on demigod.
