Yor - Good alignment - War party The +8 logistics, and +25% miniturization are the highest of all races. Both traits are excellent for anyone who wants the most powerful fleets. After some work, the good alignment also provides a +35% to defense, and a +5% hit points above and beyond the other alignments.

I've played those kind of maps before. I use them to practice my military tactics. The fact everyone is fighting for just a little elbow room teaches you a lot for how to prepare for a military conflict.
Interesting. I still have that game. Maybe I'll take a look. Thanks for the link.
The button in question should be left of the research button. From there, you could search for all planents, and then sort alphabetically, and then scroll throught the list to find the planet you are looking for. Just a warning, not every race will have thier planets named after them. This is especially true for minor races that popped up after the game had started. I hope this helps.
First, in version 1.31, there should be an option to keep all existing parts when upgrading a ship design, instead of only keeping jewelery. Second, when building ships, there should be 3 buttons at the top right corner of the screen. These buttons should be: show all parts, show all functional parts, and show all jewelery. It should be easier to select the functional parts from the list at the top by selecting "show all functional parts". I hope this helps.
The Yor have upgraded versions of both the factory, and economy buildings. These advanced structures causes several problems for the Yor early in the game. The first is, they take longer to build, and thus, they will continue to consume resources until they are finished. The second is, the factory structure has an upkeep cost 1 higher than the basic factory, so this consumes extra BCs, thus slowing the economy down. The third is, these resources could be better spent on other things, like buildi
GalCiv 2 has a steep learning curve, so it might take a while to get a feel for the game. beyond that, you should have an enjoyable experience. If you enjoy 4x games, then GalCiv 2 should be a good game for you. Before I got it, I might play a few games of Civilization every 6 months. Now I play this game almost daily.
I'm not sure if this is a listed feature but, heres my say. When you select what ships to build, you have to scroll throw a very long list if you've been making a lot of ships. At some point, the obsolete button becomes useless because of the sheer volume of ships available. So here is an alternative, a folder system to store ships in. In the ship manager screen you can create folders so you can toss ships in. There after, you can open and close these folders when selecting wha
The functionality I most desire would be the ability to control the building and upgrading of farms, so that I could essentially select the pop cap for any planet to be any integral number of Billions. Agreed, that would be useful. That isn't however what is on the top of my wish list right now. #1 A folder system to organize all of
It is a little tricky. You should be able to find a map file in the GalCiv2 folder, and you should enter Data, and then CustomMaps folder. Aka (This is the default path for installation) C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\CustomMaps Here is guide to modding GalCiv 2 WWW Link Suffice to say, it takes a little bit of work to make your own maps. I hope this helps.
I currently use 4 programs for computer security. The list includes: -Spybot S&D -Adaware -Norton internet security (planning on switching) -Hijack this Spybot has an immunize function that uses prevents spybots from being installed on to the computer. The people who make have been having trouble with people making fake websites to fool users. There also have been a few issues between Spybot S&D and an old beta version of a Microsoft anti spybot program. So any bad
Could you please explain the problem. All we are seeing is a screen shot about a UP vote about increasing number of trade routes. Is that the problem you have? Do you want it eliminated, or something?
So frogboy, starbases were intended to be defended by fleets. I can live with that. What I have trouble living with is how the fleets that are suposed to be defending them keep asking what to do when they are sitting there idle. I move 1 ship, the defending fleet asks me what to do, I move another, the defending fleet asks me what to do again. It is quite annoying. What I would like is some sort of "fortify location" command that orders the fleets to defend the location, and not to ask
I have some ideas that I think should be implemented, or at least considered for the new expansion. I however don't know exactly where to post them, so I'll post them here. #1 Better starbase defenses: At the begining of the game, starbases, with the most basic of defenses, easily outpower any buildable ship at that time. By researching several techs, you can make the starbases the single most powerful ship in the game. They are able to defend any galatic resource... for a while. Ne
Why would you want to disable xeno ethics? Of course I'm asking this as a good aligned player who hates the ethinical decisions that come up without the tech. They seem to punish us for making the right decision.
Thanks for the insight. However, now I must ask, where do you buy tokens at? Also, how do you buy them?
A tip: When building ships, sometimes less is more. You don't want to waste money on features you don't use. This allows you to build ships cheaply, and quickly, and that is a quality in it self. An example: The first military ships I tend to build is a tiny hull that has a sparrow missle launcher slapped on it, nothing else. Last time I checked my calculations, and price of parts, that design is the single most cheapest military ship you can possibly build.
Tokens? I was meaning to ask at some point, but what are tokens. I assume they are for the stardock central program that you use update games. Also, how do you aquire tokens?
I've seen a few bugs myself. Bug 1: -There is more food available than what is being produced by buildings. Bug 2: -The dregin civilization capital apparently moved to planet kona after I had captured their home world dregin. Bug 3: -Various civilizations have declared war on the fundamentalist despite the fact, they exist nowhere on the map. I'll send an email with debug.err, a save of the map in question, and a screen shot to make sure you know w
They should do something. Normal starbases are underpowered when compaired to the ships you can build. Sure the total attack, and defense points for space stations are greater than any custom built ship, but it isn't that difficult to design a single ship specifically built to destroy space stations, let alone fleets of them. The ships in question merely has to do enough damage to destroy the station, not survive it. I would like it if they made space stations a little bit more difficult to dest
Its a japanese tv series, with giant robots. Because the series doesn't have FTL drives, I don't think a mod would work.
Have you remembered to increase your miniturization? Ships designs built with increased miniturization tend not to have the required space to be built without it.
My advice is to simply start typing. With time, you'll get better, and by then you should have enough material to decide what you really want to make. You should be able to use any general text editor to modify these files, but you might be able to get a hold of some freeware programs for moding. Also look at this link: https://www.galciv2.com/mods/gc2modsdoc.htm
I've been playing this game for a while and I've noticed a few problems that could be fixed. Some of these are merely anoying, but others could make game play better if fixed. 1. Ability to use folders to help organize ships. People who play for a while might end up with a large clutter of ships. This makes it difficult to find a specific ship you want to produce. Although you can make ships obsolete, it does become tiresome to do it continuously for every game. I'm thinking that
You have a single transport sitting between your two planets. For the AIs, who are way to sensitive to this problem, that is reason enough to declare war, or at least get mad. Something about having a ship capable of invading a planet drifting in open space is something they have a problem with. I once played on the largest map size possible. I left a transport near a dregin planet for a while, who I was at war with for a very long time, in a corner of the galaxy. A minor race that I
