Bizarrely, what worked for me, and now means the game loads every time, is that I changed 'GfxThrottleFrameRate=1' to 'GfxThrottleFrameRate=0' This was after I noticed that my debug.err was telling me that my refresh rate was 0Hz. Hope it works for others as well
