I can think of many other games that have better, more fun, visions of tactical combat. If they had just copied something and tweaked it we would have a better game.
I don't see it. So you ended up with a built-in preference for ownership of wizards that align with the node. Gave it character, as well. Love the big tree in the midd
Quoting tanafres, reply 2 I also loved Myrror. That said, I hated the underground levels in Age of Wonders (and every other game), even though both are simply another overlaid map with well-defined transition points. Maybe it was because Myrror had actual character, unique terrain features, unique races, and no movement speed penalty (that always killed me in the underground maps of other games - made the game soooo tedious). The rui

One comment about the two worlds thing. i like it... it adds a 'wild card' of sorts in that a whole level of strategic and tactical considerations are added, that can be activated at various times and with a variety of consequences. I like the dark side graphics better, as well. One thing I would have loved to see was to actually have a number of these w

My understanding is that population demands per improvement are deliberately empire-wide. This gives a strong impetus to specialize cities so the higher-tier (+%bonus) buildings are more effective, and also greatly reduces the incentive for city spamming. I imagine the hope is to drive the player to have more meaningful emotional attachments to their cities, and provide an interesting game mechanic. So less a chain, more a global talent pool.

I think that what LX is saying is not that you cannot have 2 quests of the same level, but rather that you cannot have 2 of the exact same quest. The quests seem to be attached on hut spawning, and are often duplicated. I suspect he's right that if you finish your quest you will be able to activate another of the huts to get a new (exact same, with different target location) quest.

YAAAAAAY! This is all wonderful news. I had posted about problems with the tech system, and it sounds like you've solved them all. Thank you very much:-) Btw, while the previous research system turned out to be completely inappropriate for navigating any system with tiered rewards (especially along linear-dependency research paths), it might be salvagable for any sort of flat-result, non-research (which by definition is always tiered
