I would like to add an observation that I'm seeing with 1.3 AI. I think Brad heard the complaints about poor city planning by the AI so I'm seeing the AI try to build better cities. Unfortunately, this is coming at the expense of building better and more troops especially during time of war. I'll be at war with the AI and they are researching "growth" when they should be pumping out troops.

which ever one will provide the bigger benefit at the time... if you click on one choice, watch how it modifies your growth (look down in the stats of the town, it will show what kind of benefit that building will bring) ... then click on the other and choose which ever is the greater benefit. now there are some other things to consider strategically speaking such as should you even care about growth?!? it all depends on what you're trying to do, how fast do you want t

both. because one of the factors of "the speed at which your city grows" is how far you are away from the total capacity. as you near capacity, growth slows down. adding grain increases capacity which can increase growth rate if you're far enough away from that total capacity. make sense?

1. I think you can play with 10 factions on a large map... the maps are friggin huge. 2. Yes, TARTH is a good faction for newbs. They were my favorite faction until I realized there were other factions. ;-) 3. Don't disturb the monsters. Either kill them or leave them alone, but don't disturb them! 4. If you're going with TARTH, then you should choose Mage ( and pick Summoning skills ) or Assassin for your sovereign

Pick me! Pick me! We created a community thread on UI wishes way back when: https://forums.elementalgame.com/442451/page/5/#3351901 Here's what I posted then: #1 PRIORITY for me is that the Empire Tree needs to highlight the currently selected unit/town. For micromanagers going through a long list in the empire tree, it's easy to lose your place and have to start over again.

a weak economy can kill your army production so that's why I said #6 (up above) to build a few elite units instead of lots of junk units. here are some other tips for your economy: 1. upgrade some of your villages to towns... towns produce the most gildar and can build more gildar producing buildings 2. grow all of your cities to higher levels... the higher the level, the more gildar they produce 3. take over AI cities...
Nobody will take offense but Derek is Kael and Brad is Frogboy.
Are you sure about that? Has anyone ever seen them together? Isn't it interesting that anytime Derek is around, where's Brad? Anytime Brad is around, where's Derek? Hmmmm....

the best use for a familiar is sticking it in your capital so you can cast strategic spells (with cooldowns) twice

hi noob, it sounds like you're doing the right thing, but here are some more tips... 1. first, spam pioneers to make lots of cities and outposts 2. keep heroes in separate army stacks because they will cannibalize each other's exp 3. don't build every building in every city ... specialize 4. one of your heroes should be a mage specializing in fire/evoker or summoning 5. one of your heroes should be a comma

FIX IT! Why can't you guys get the "saving" of games figured out? In addition to this bug, we have the auto-move bug when you load a saved game that I've been reporting since EWOM. Others have reported funniness with resource counts when loading a saved game. I think it's time to hire the "saving" games guru from Firaxis and fix this. What say ye?

every faction has a trait/ability that seems overpowered... that's what makes them fun, unique, and play differently. if you stop playing pariden long enough, you'll soon find out that altar's henchmen, rush ability, and quest loop is overpowered, resoln's shard corruption and death spells are overpowered, yithril's juggernauts are overpowered, tarth's double-strike is overpowered, and so on...

While I agree that the AI doesn't always settle in an optimal spot, your example is flawed. After you raze a city, there are often new spots (and better spots that weren't there before) because the land changes for the better while it is under player/AI control over time.

That was a name suggested by a forum user and Derek took it. Was it you DsRaider? I can't remember who recommended it, but it's a great name for a monster.

you've already cast it once. it can only be on one person at a time. look at your enchantment screen and see who it's been cast on. you can disenchant it from there if you want to cast it on someone else.

Hi Borg, if the spell mastery/damage path is the strongest in the game, I would argue that the summoner path is the second strongest. Personally, I tend to shy away from summoner path because I know if I take it, it's an automatic win for me. If I'm playing the harder levels, then it's definitely a must. Maybe it's the way you're using the summons. You mentioned you are using them as distractions... while that's a strategy for some battles
