Campaign: Achilles Heel WTF!!??!! in Game Talk GalCiv2 Forums

Before I vent, I just have to ask...are players supposed to fail this mission? There is no way to win Achilles Heel, PERIOD! Let me explain. My tech tree only let's me research beam weapons at this stage of the game. So, what do the Dread Lord ships load up on? Tons of shielding against beam weapons.
