I wouldn't mind seeing a slider for pirate difficulty in the game, which would be a mixture of things like how often they attack and how large their forces are, that kinda thing. Many people just seem to want to see less and less of the pirates, but I'd be happy to see more of them. I'm the sort who'd be happy to play a mod where the objective would be to survive against them for as long as possible :)

My specs are exactly the same as the OP's (7950gt etc), and I've had an issue like this once or twice before too. I've had a black screen a couple times now, once while loading a map, with seemingly no way to get past it. I was about to hard reset my system when I was finally able to minimise it. Edit: Suggested running in windowed mode, but someone beat me to it :)

Great post, and I couldn't agree more with what you're trying to say. It's so truly refreshing to be playing a product that is so well supported. Especially in this day and age. Stardock could make anything after GalCiv2 now, and I'd pay for it. Anything. Hell I'm not really a fan of turn-based, but I bought this product after having heard how good this company was, and I'm glad I did. The journal page is just fantastic. How about

I've had GalCiv2 installed for just over a week now, and there've been two updates to this game already. That's more updates than some games ever get. Stardock Central is a very small price to pay, but don't like it? Go back to EA.

While it does come across as being somewhat trivial, it is hard to take people's posts seriously when they're obviously not paying any attention to their grammar or spelling, and much of the time you really can tell by the nature of such mistakes whether English is their first language. Yeah, this isn't an English essay forum, but if you want other people to read what you have to say, it's not much to ask that you put a little effort into it
