But for those of you who, like me, miss the “old days” of Ultima IV and such when games came with big maps, cloth maps and other goodies, here you go.
Will you please make a new Ultima 4?

1. Having a draw or area fill funtion would be nice...clicking one square at a time is painful. Also when converting water to land one click at time, missing a square causes an invisible cliff to form which mean that square can't be moved through. Seems to cause some pathing issues. Would be nice to have a tool to look for these invisible cliffs. 2. The gane automatically adds random resources when I play a map I have created. Is there a way to

Agreed on formations. Really need to be able to set formations and should be able to set formations of armies outside combat so don't have to do every battle. Also I see point on evil factions not feeling evil. Also evil just seems generally disadvantaged. Think wood mills may be missing for evil. Not sure if is by design but if you make a custom leader of one race and pick a faction/empire of a different race your leader will no
games so far, in one, spending a point in movement increased it only 0.2 points and in the other it increased it 1 point...huh?
Far as I can tell leveling gives you .2 for movement or attack speed and 1 for all other stats.
+ New Tiny Seed Map
I am not seeing new map, just new resources on the same map. Are there settings that would yield a different map or is that just a reference to the change in resouces?

I like the build so far. CTD I am getting a CTD sometimes when tech kicks in and it gives the pop up about setting your tech...when it goes to pull up the tech screen it sometimes CTD instead. Seems most prevelent when I am receiving tech from sovereign talent vs tech from a city. Farms/Impact I think the changes help make city management a bit less tedious. We need more and special high level buildings to make you really want a level 5 city but I t

Wow really liking all the changes so far. Cant help feeling that needs to be a little more like Civ IV in the sense that resources should be clustered or more common...a city should have 2 or three, maybe more, special resources. Iron and iron type resources seem to be a bit to rare. At the very least I hope there will be a resource density slider for random maps.

Is anyone else getting a CTD based on research from sovereign talent popping before you have city? Edit--happened twice when first installed but haven't been able to repeat since.

Having resources more clustered might help too. Clustering would make some spots much more desirable. Almost like Civilization where a town will have 4 or 5 resources it might work rather than 1 or 2.

As I posted elsewhere I would really like to see the whole farms and houses part go away. Building basic infrastructure isn't fun. Cant they build their own. Let me focus on customizing my castle and defenses...laying that out...not mundane stuff. I don't see any fun in the current placement micromanagement other than to ruin the fluidity of the game by having to go back to it. The city should grow over time no matter what I do. Basic infrastructure like ho

#1 City improvements Like the idea of benefits from adjacency. Don't like the requirement that most structures must touch each other. Limits city planning and ability to keep city organized. Would prefer ability to build anywhere within your current radius. I think to keep city management fun it need to be reduced. Do away with most of it. First cities need some base defense value. One farmer shouldn't be able to walk in and take over an undefended city of 1000. Even peasan
I'm not against a small amount of inherent defense, but it should be small. As it is now, even a limited military is hard to build, so if I'm investing in that, I don't want a big city of farmers to cancel that advantage.
I agree. Just dont think a level 1 adventurer of a single swordsman should be able to take it. Also I do feel armies are very weak at present. This will need to change

Played Beta 2 a lot this week and my feelings are as follows: First and foremost cities don't feel important, at least at this point. By the time you can build a still crappy city I can use the resources to hire a bunch of NPCs and rush you. Even with troop production my NPC army will roll the city. Perhaps a low level building that allows you to recruit NPCS from city would help. Definitely need more than 1 base movement for sov
