Im excited, but it kind of sucks to lose features we already had in beta 1. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Bring it on!

I think the center monster model looks really good. edit: on that note so does the golem.
Can I upgrade a digital purchase to box purchase by adding $5 somewhere?
Frogboy, please do a Star Control 5. Oh my god, please do a Star Control 5. Please do a Star Control 5. Please?
Speaking of NPCs, is the only way to recruit them going to be paying them Gildars? Because there are a lot of other interesting possiblities there.
Oh there should totally be quests involved to get certain NPCs. That is a 100% must. You hear Mr. Wardell, a 100% must! Frogman said no nickle-and-dime DLC. Real expansions only.
I can't bring myself to even look at this game after paying $50 for empire. Worst gaming purchase of my entire life, hands down. Never again, CA. I hope Elemental takes the place of all games you make for the next 10 years.
What in the hell? Banning from forum = banning from game? Class action lawsuit incoming?
One sad fact of history, medieval armies for tragically short of air support as well as air transport. And while a fantasy world with dragons, demons, and a handful of other creatures that fly can be very useful, they are exceptionally rare.
Right, but I think the question is: if we were to amass a few of these exceedingly rare creatures, would the "army" they compose be able to fly around the str
Can I ask if there's been any news on the whole "vassals in charge of little sub-kingdoms" type thing that was in a journal entry a while back? The idea was that too big a kingdom causes a lot of management overhead, and you appoint family members or somesuch to rule certain parts of your kingdom for you. Is that still in-game?
That was one of the first pics of a in-engine battle they ever showed. Honestly I think it might even be just a "mock up". I like the one I mentioned above a little better. Not in terms of "action" as in what's going on in the screen shot. In the new pic it looks like they are getting ready to fight, standing off, looking across the field at the enemy. Builds tension. I like it
Haha I see where you're coming from but to know
Noooooooooooooooo lets leave the clutter out! I want great forest expanses, plains and mountains. Not a Fantasy theme park!
100% agreed. We already have HoMM and warcraft. Time for something fresh. edit: I also want to disagree with anyone who says that those beauty spells should have functionality. There are plenty of functional spells in the game for you to tweak / add more of if necessary, but havin
It really looks absolutely fantastic, frogboy. I love how it keeps the sense of fantasy and story through its kind of "ethereal" look but always reminds you that this a real world that exists somewhere by having those grand open spaces, unlike HoMM or warcraft which obnoxiously remind you every step of the way "this is a game, collect all the random treasure strewn on the ground that you can!" or civ that says "look at how three cavemen tower over a city of millions!" Good luck! Is September too close to the holidays for you to delay to then if necessary?
Can't wait for Beta 2!
^^ I have to agree with the mirroring of the colors.
So since we can make our own tiles, does the engine automatically choose what objects are important or do we set priorities for the objects?
One thing that really bothers me about tbs that might be good to think about is lack of group movement. If we have hundreds of archers they should be able to all fire in one chorus. Furthermore, I hope ranged units don 't need to be aimed at a specific enmey, it takes too long with today's interface and doesn't apply to real combat. It sure would save a lot of time during epic battles. Being able to move form
I'd like to make one more request. Can we please see screenshots of what we're debating about here? Turn based with tiles can mean a lot of things - from HoMM to MoM to Xcom, all of which play quite differently IMO. Are there multiple elevation levels and intricate structures to traverse like in X-com or are we looking at a wide-open field with some rocks in the way for excitement like in HoMM or total war?
I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you about "withdraws." Instead of letting a player run away in classic military fashion in an organized retreat, do what total war does. When you withdraw, all your men instantly have 0 morale and do their best to get the hell off the map. That way the other player can take out a sizable amount of men with some effort, but you don't lose everything like in HoMM. edit: allow me to give a good reason for why you should do this. Your concern i
In my mind there is a HUGE difference between a tactical battle in X-com and a tactical battle in HoMM. If the battles in this game are anything like the shallow ones in HoMM, count me as incredibly disappointed. The total war style battles looked great.
Great news! It's exciting to hear that next time around we'll be getting to play around with your game prototypes.
I'm lobbying for a total war style battle system. It really is a lot more epic and visceral than the slow MOM-style.
