I'm not sure where the folder for the default faction files is, but for the custom ones, it's in My Documents\My Games\Elemental\Race or the corresponding folder that your OS uses

This is a mod I'd really like to see, I'm a novice at best coding this game (I'm just getting started) so I have no clue how you would go about doing that. This is the type of mod that would go great with single use spells, like certain summons, where you could cast the spell to get the effect but wouldn't be able to cast it again until the effect ended, or casting it again would over-ride the previous effect. A single use spell (of the cast only once variety) that would be tr
Eventually I want to be able to have specific tech trees for individual races so that each one will play out differently.
Which sounds truly awesome and will really get me started modding if we ever figure out how to do that. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get this figured out soon, sadly I haven't the foggiest clue how to do it.
Ok I didn't see anyone tell you this so the files you were looking for were K_CityHubs.xml and F_CityHubs.xml In \Elemental\data\English\Core Improvements The values you would modify if you wanted to change the tile limit are 50 You can manually increase them to whatever you like. Before editing them you should copy and paste them into your My Documents\My Games\E
That's nothin! One time I started a random game and there was a fire, water, earth, and air node all within vicinity of where I started, nearby there were three libraries and a pumpkin patch, needless to say my empire was set.
Go to your Elemental folder and create a shortcut for Elemental.exe, at the end of it add the word cheat (just cheat, for example C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental\Elemental.exe" cheat). When you start a new game you'll have access to all the cheat functions, you can find a list on GameFAQs.com though I have to warn you the forum section on that site is full of Internet Trolls. The cheat command is Clt+U to see the whole map, an

The only reason I mentioned it is because it's sort of a convoluted way of establishing a road network, so I was not sure if you knew it was possible, since it took me a few games to figure it out.
Point taken, Caravans have several shortcomings though. I mean their number is limited, the distance seems limited (if your ally is too far away, the caravan can't seem to establi
You can already build roads... Send a caravan between your cities, and a road will appear.
I know that Caravans automatically establish road, but there's a lot you can't do with the caravans, and obviously what I'm suggesting is very different from how caravans work, so why even mention it?

First, it fixes all the doubles of buildings, cleans the code, and fixes some abilities (granary, war college). It also adds +1 trade route for each market (might be unbalanced lategame). http://depositfiles.com/files/mr9gdp5xq NOTE: This is a CORE MODIFICATION, not a normal mod. Maybe it can be used as a normal mod but it's intended to replace the core files because of some

There are a few features I feel really should have been in this game, features that have been in Civilization for a decade or more, some of which have even been in other Stardock games. 1: Influence AI Alliances: Essentially the ability to influence the AI to make peace and forge alliances with our allies. 2: Less Attack Requests: The AI constantly asks us to attack our friends, even rivals will ask us to join and wage war on our allies. This really has to stop,
Thanks this is a great addition to the game!
Suppose I want to mod it so that every time I start a new game, the world automatically defaults to the name Ivo (the only random name I'd allow) what do I mod for this?
Thanks a ton =)
I downloaded a couple of maps from the Mods Library, but can't seem to open them in the map editor.
Is there any way to edit a saved game map?
^ They are really crappy forums, they really are. Stardock needs to get to work on at least matching the JoWood forums.
Apparently you need to logout and then log back in for this to apply.
O'rly? Testing then :D Edit: Eurika! It works. Damn these forums are buggy, cumbersome, slow, and have crappy tag codes though. In fact has anyone been able to get the
Tag to work?
Maybe
No... Meh
Just look for random wandering heroes of the opposite gender and recruit one of your choosing. Be warned, if she dies you can never remarry.
Is there any way to start a random map, save it, and load it in the map editor by chance?
Since a thread like this doesn't already exist, we might as well get one started. Elemental lets you create and modify your own maps, if you have a custom map you'd like to share please share it here.
I hate to say it because I love Stardock and I love the community on these forums, but the forums themselves really really suck, I'd prefer the Forums on JoWood a hundred times to this. Not the community, and definitely not the company, just to be clear on that, I'm only talking about the Forums themselves, how the code works and how the forums operate and navigate.
Here's the Uncoded version of the xml Sorry for the long post I can't figure out how to get the friggin spoiler tags to work on this stupid buggy cumbersome forum

DispName DisplayName,Description <
Hey How do you get the Spoiler tags to work in the first place, because
Spoiler Here
really doesn't seem to do it, no matter how you type the word Spoiler. I'm really starting to hate the way these forums are set up, the community is awesome but the forums themselves seem extremely lacking, with buggy codes, image upload errors, slow loading, and generally cumbersome.
Yeah, I've got a mod to do the same thing (only at 75 tiles). Don't forget you also need to start a new game to see any effects.
Care to share your mod? He was a little vague on how he solved the problem.
