Excellent news! Now you just need to hire someone who can speed time, so we don't have to wait for all the good stuff you all have planned! :P

This has got me extra excited for 1.1. Can't wait.
Awesome, DLing it now.
Yep, same with me sadly. Hope they didn't leave it out for some reason. *edit - Still nothing, just keeps telling me I need the pre-release update, but I've got the only thing that shows up. Has anyone been able to get it to work?
Multiplayer version of 1.09 not out yet? Downloaded 1.09 but in game it tells me to click show pre-release versions in options. I already have show pre-release selected, and multiplayer worked in 1.08 for me.
Yeah I get the same thing, and also have 'show pre-release versions' on.
Sounds great, a lot of good stuff in there. I'm eagerly waiting to try out multiplayer as well.
I've never lost either. I generally end up with a ranged + AoE combo, the AI can't seem to handle ranged very well, I don't even need summons for it. Once I get a few catapults it's usually game over for the AI. If I go straight melee it can be a little tough, but there's still so many ways to skirt around the AIs poor ability anyway. Things that to me make the AI too easy: They don't use teleport Their Sov doesn't seem to ever use magic in tactical b
It took a bit for them to work out a licensing deal with Intel on the 64-bit version of Havok, and the delay caused it to be pushed from release. They said its something they are still working on, but never said how long it would take.
For me, its too slow (in movement/attacks and animations) and has too much random chance to it (I can save and re-load the same battle and sometimes my units will miss 9/10 times, then re-load the same fight and hit every attack).
In about 7 games now, I've yet to have a kid that was any good. Best I had was one with 5 essence, hehe.
I also would like them to make some changes to monster spawns. In most of my games it seems I spend more time fighting off random spawns then I do the AIs that I'm at war with...
Yeah, I have this happen a lot, sometimes they'll spam me with those every 15 turns or so with no intent on doing it.
Bummer :(
Yeah I think it would really add some depth to the dynasties. It already has the whole '...Next in line for the throne...' on their info panels only makes sense that they take over if you die.
Yeah they do seem a little too strong. After getting a few into one of my groups in one match I just rolled through everything without taking a hit.
Just making sure I'm not missing something here, but is there another way to select the face/skin colour on units you design? In the 'Other' section with the hair/clothes that's all I see, but there is a little random cycle button over where it shows the units stats that allows you to change the face/skin colour of the unit, but you have to cycle through it, is there no list where you can just pick one? Not a big deal if there isn't but it just seems odd to not be able to just
The main hold-up is apparently Havok, if i remember correctly.
I'm pretty sure they got that part settled with Intel (who owns havok), and from what I understand it was just the delay in getting the 64-bit license which forced them to delay the release of a 64-bit version.
Only problem I have about it, is the double standard. Because StarDock is/was known for putting out finished/polished games and is a smaller indie company when they don't it's a huge deal and they get slammed to hell and back, but when the big guys do it, the ones that people expect to have buggy launches they get a pass and a glowing review... The article kept mentioning 'the rest of the industry' as if PC games have been all perfect at launch recently when buggy launches have
Update: And we do plan to make it available for pre-order users today too.
Nice :)
Ok, thanks for clearing that up! [e digicons]:D[/e]
I got it today, was announcing the launch and linked to the game play stories Brad has been posting. Here's a screen shot of it:
Just saw the email that talks about release and says pre-orders will get to begin downloading a day early on the 23rd. Does this mean we're only going to be able to 'pre-load' or still get to play on the 23rd as was discussed earlier? My impression was that pre-orders would be able to play it early as well, but the email just says to begin downloading, and has me wondering is all. Can we get some clarification on this?
Yes, this sounds great as an option, but not the only one for MP.
Good stuff. Now, I'd love some nice game play videos as well to help tide me over :)
Now I just need to put myself into stasis until Monday!
