6. Riitu - unknown - unknown (I include as minor because we never see them and they have no ships) Good call, they should be in. I'll go with the Asurans over the Reps, nice idea on combining the hulls for them. And ofcourse we replace the DreadLords with the Ori. Very, very cool. Though it would be nice to have them appear a bit more than the DL would, if that can be modded. Apophis fo

The Free Jaffa should be based at Dakaara, where the Council is. The leader of the FJN should be Bre'tak, because Teal'c is wth SG1. Yea, agreed. I think we should lump the System Lords together as the Goa'uld and have Anubis by himself (like the Drengin and Korath). This is a good idea, perhaps Apophis can be the leader of the system lords, he needs to be there somewhere i think. Hope you get o

Hi all. I have been trolling all the threads regarding Stargate on the forums and it doesn't seem there is a mod team active at the moment. There has been some nice work done on ships but i cannot see if there is progress being made. We need to start something up ourselves and if there is another mod perhaps then we can collaborate or something. It does seem that this thread has seen some life in the past couple of weeks, so maybe we all should pool what talents we have and and

Hi guys, after reading many threads about a stargate mod i just want to know, is there a team working on a mod now? If not lets really get on this, it seems the hard part is to agree on the use of a gate, there has been some really good ideas on this thread, https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=348&aid=113806#1194106 Hopefully we can all get this up and running. And if there is one going now, count me in, what can i do?

Hi all. There is alot of talk on many threads about a stargate mod and i see different names in alot of them. Is there anyone making amod currently that anyone knows of? Theres has been some recent talk on this thread, perhaps we all need to combine our thoughts, and if you guys have something going, where do i sign up?

Yes and no. I'll try and explain. Let's say the range of a ship with 2 basic life supports might be 2.5sct, now as i understand it that is from the furthest planet/starbase you have, which is why at times you can have two sphere's of influence on the map not connected (the line you mentioned is separating them) but yet can traverse the space in between, though without stopping in that space. You will hit a stop with the life support you are using and may need to research up that branch a little.

Well i do neither. I just use the extended range that the first colonized planet gives me. What i mean is that i colonize the planet furthest from my home that i can reach, that will increase your range on its own. If you do this in each direction, n/s/e/w, your range will increase without having to put life support on your ships freeing up room for more engines. Of course it all depends on what level and size game you are playing, i dont play small galaxies so i would say anyt

Kryo, by changing these files i expect you mean rename your mp3's as the same as the game music. Also will this trip the cheat flag in the MV, i assume not if they are named the same. Thanks.

Well to answer the loading issue, i do know that it was vastly improved in a later patch, so once you get your serial issue fixed and get the latest patch (1.5) you should be right in that regard. As to the issue with your serial, the flood of answers that follow mine will no doubt tell you that emailing Stardock is still going to be your best avenue of resolving this. Sorry to tell you what you already knew, but that is going to be your best bet, try these emails. <br

If you conquer a planet with a Gate Terminal you would have the bonuses of the alien terminal Yes you would, but i don't think that is all together bad. When the Go'uld conquer a planet they add whatever technology and planetary goodies there are to themselves (not including slaves of course). Now as long as those bonus's are not too much cheese to begin with it should be alright. Of course like i said this is assuming we need to have a gate style of bu

Sorry about that. As I said, I hoped my comment wasn't taken negatively. Not at all. Seems i didn't have my finger quite on the pulse, sorry. No argument, just needed to understand we we are at. The real issue is "does it benefit the wider GalCiv2 community?". My opinion is that this can't be answered by a few fol

But I do think the statement that "if Kryo can do it in the AltMeta then why can't Stardock do it for the official metaverse" is misguided. Actually you have just misunderstood is all, my point was that Kryo has shown that these types of modifications are possible and that it is within their (Stardock) power to make these changes, however improbable. "if Kryo can do it in the AltMeta then why can't Stardock do it for

Going out on a limb here, but if Stardock don't see that this is worth the time and money, would we buy this feature, say if it was included in some form of expansion. This might convince Stardock to go ahead with this, since it seems to be somewhat harder than alot of us realized. I for one would buy it, provided it is suitably priced. I miss not having the freedom of using Kryo's mod in DA in the MV, and the High Res mod is great too!! <a href="http://altmeta2.thegalacticcore

Very true. Instead of using the gate as a transport device, which i think we can all agree is not going to work in this game, why not just change the look of the initial colony tile. It provides economics, research etc, etc and all these could be tweaked to suit each race. Different values for each race based on how we perceive their use of the gate. The Tokra for instance could have a higher espionage setting, the Free Jaffa a soldiering bonus....and we could just include these in the initial c

No. I never spoke those words, and would not advocate that being said on the forums. Criticism is fine and encouraged, suicidal comments can be left at the door. another use of the stargate would be colonizing Would this not require all planets to already have a gate on the planet first? I don't think this would be viable, the colonization techs alone would make this difficult. <a href="http://altmeta2.thegalacticcore.com/charstats.php

Please don't take this negatively, but in the first place, Kryo doing the AltMeta in his spare time does not imply that this is something easy to do. Of course not. Perhaps if we can show some initiative and do something on our own, Stardock may be more willing to support us further in the future. Ok, once the xml file has been implemented, what can we do to show that initiative? I'm certain that there a

Will the Alt-Meta update scores that are submitted using those mods. If so and with Stardock's reluctance to change the MV would they consider hosting Alt-Meta medals or some equivalent? I would love to play with both those mods enabled however as we know that the devs would rather drop the MV than change things WOOT! No. I know next nothing about codding

The way i see it is, if it is possible , mod a tile that of course looks like the stargate, with it's purpose linked to spying. Once both planets in question have a gate, it gives both parties the lowest setting of espionage plus a small increment for economics (trade with said planet), then in time of war when you land your troop ship the advantage factor for the attacker could be increased or maybe a waiving of costs for invasion techniques. IMHO, the actual use of the stargate itself

I don't doubt that it will....for a time. But in the end we will wear you down...... Really, what we need is for the Orcas to fight back. This is all healthy for the Metaverse, will another empire make a dash for the top???? I hope so.

Well Done all!!!! We need to keep at it though as i'm sure there are a couple of very high scoring games not too far in the future from the diplomats. Either way we will prevail. Now let's get to 1 million points. <a

why are his scores so low compared to the top players? His scores are quite impressive when you consider the smaller maps he plays. And besides, since when is not 12th out of thousands not good? Jealous? Anyway, what in hell gives you the right to question him? Where are your scores? What score could you get given the same settings in the Metaverse? Low tax rate = higher approval = higher score. It seems to me you are plai
