Epic Games is owned by Chinese company Tencent. Tencent has strong ties to the Chinese government. With all the human abuses that the Chinese government is committing (very much including the silent holocaust of the Muslims and other non-state-sponsored religions) I cannot in good conscience give any of my money to a platform with ties such as this. This is not a whim or some SJW fluff. Two years ago I deleted my Blizzard account (which they made difficult to

This is our last week. Kids will be back mid-August. Clubs usually kick in early-to-mid-September. New year, new kids.
Any chance we can get a volume license or similar for education? I have an after-school engineering, STEM club and this would fit very nicely.
How to get this on Steam? I ran the beta program, "Installed" put in the beta code, and it was accepted. What now?
I want to buy the bundle. Will the T4B ( http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php ) content work with the Steam version? Also, any chance we can get post-processing effects added to Star Control 2?
OK...so I've played for almost three years and I've never encountered this rule, but it makes sense. Next question...does the "first strike" racial perk change anything?
The results of the combat seem to suggest that the dreadlord attacked your fleet. Since both fleets were to be destroyed that round, the tie rule came into play, which says that in the event of a tie the attacker survives with one hp. If you had done the attacking, the dreadlord would have lost, and you would have one ship left at 1hp.
I DID attack. It didn't mat
So I'm playing a sandbox, metaverse game and the dread lord pop up. I build a fleet or two, and off I go to hunt them down...only problem is I can't. No matter what I throw at them (or how buff my stations are) they win. Why?
I'd say, GREAT! Play in the metaverse...but it's been down since DG got released and ate the server. (sigh)
I have encountered similar frustrations. I host a games club at my high school (I teach physics) and the kids were excited when I bought DG. To Hell if I'm going to give them (12 teenagers) my Impulse login, but that seems to be the only way to install and update the game.
Still down. Gave me time to play Demigod... ...which also sucks. I'm done with impulse-based / network-based Stardock games.
Good points, Snark. I have loved Stardock in the past and have supported Impulse whenever I can, but if we are really to choose Impulse over Steam, Direct2Drive, and Gamersgate, we need to be assured that Stardock sees things LONG TERM. It's tough to justify buying a game that looks like it won't be supported years down the line. Demigod is a good example. Should we buy a game that is effectually online-multiplayer only if we don't have assurances that it will be a
You might be able to force it by setting DisplayHeight = 600 in the Prefs.ini file, but if your driver can't handle it, it won't size correctly and your mouse clicks will all be in the wrong place.
Your intellect is a shining beakon of light! Thanks. The error still comes up and the menus/settings screeen is a little odd, but the gaming window is just a hair squished.
It would make my eon to be able to play TA on my new netbook. It should be able to handle it, GPU/CPU-wise, but the screen is limitted to 1024x600. Anyone out there that has an idea on how to get the game to scale?
Great Work! Your exe seems to fix the problem. (starship is WAY to spendy, but it's nice to not crash when I ask about it)
At both a science station and military base, when I ask for the unique ship they created, the game crashes back to desktop (no error msg shown).
take care of the death pirates from nowhere random event.
It would also be nice to apply the influence #'s used to sway a planet to sway a ship in a failing military to join your fleet.
The treaties thing is the weird part. I had an economic treaty with the strongest race (and relations were close), while the Korx had no treaties with that race. I suppose it could have been the chain of treaties...war with a friend of a friend of a friend... Still, doesn't seem right to go from close-->war in under ten turns.
Ever since the moo's, I've wanted to be able to warn, threaten, extort, etc the AI's like they do us. You know, when the Dregin ask for their protection money...I want to be able to do that too.
Neither the Drath nor the Altarians were present in my last game, and the two custom races that were present in their stead did not have super abilities. It was the Korx that declared war on me, then the Krynn, then EVERYBODY.
In the last three games GalCiv2: DA b2 games I've played I had great relations with about 1/2 of the empires, and so so with about 1/4 and there has been just one that really had it out for me. First game I was a custom, then the Thalians, then the Iconians; and about mid game, somewhere around the first empire getting knocked out it happens, like clockwork... One empire attacks me, and within 20 turns, all the rest of the empires attack me! It seems not to matter what alignme
I realize it didn't in beta 1, but is it planned for anytime prior to the retail release?
Got a hard lock in DA:beta. I've emailed gc2bugs...but I reprint here in case anyone has any ideas. First, some weirdness: after I sniped a economic resource from the dread lords, they surrendered (immediately) to the terrans. The next turn, Drengin go to war with 3 races. About 10 turns or so later, I get a hard lock, no alt-tab, alt-enter, cntrl-esc available. It’s just frozen, but the music still plays. I got this lock three times, the last two after a clean reboot.<br/
Great game. Got it when it came out. First game I've played through FOUR times. I kept good notes on the story-missions, so I can win almost all of them reasonably easily (except mecha combat and pizza). Only downside is no patch for the original English DVD version. Russian version has been patched a number of times.
