Outpost are a great idea that just needs to be overhauled. In otherwords let's re-think Outpost. Outpost should be viewed as mini-cities. (They cost the same as cities, so why not) Outpost should have inheretant City Defenders just like cities. They not only protect the outpost but also any resources within thier boundaries. Outpost should be able to function as mini-cities with limits. For on
Quoting Alstein, reply 3Personally, I'd like to see a reduction not a division. Split the difference. I agree.
Ditto to this. While I can understand why you might want to divide it, it just ends up being frustrating because I get penalized for having, say a healing focused hero, and a melee hero in the same army... Just some thoughts.

Kind of agree with this from my experience in FE, not sure about LH yet as I haven't finished a game yet. But in FE I would get 10 swords or daggers per something else. With mage's staves being the least common. Though I would say that swords should be very common as they are one of the most used weapons..

Did the Bloodthirsty trait change at all (in LH)? Seems weird to have a trait that gives a large bonus to attack just for attacking a damaged unit. All ya gotta do is hit em once and you get a crazy attack bonus. This trait is almost always the best + attack trait... Maybe it should be changed to only kick in when the enemy is at 50% health or something... Unless that is what it does and I'm just dumb :)

I believe that LH changed it so that the XP isn't split anymore... Personally in FE I would just have armies with two Champs, one caster and one melee. XP was split two ways, but it seemed like a good combo. With the LH change methinks I'll run around with more champs...

I'm wondering if changes to global mana are being thought of? With a mere +3 at the beginning a lot of the strategic spells are kind of useless IMO. Heck 1 imbued champion and a crappy summoned unit and I'm pretty much maxed. I really like the idea of a system where there is a maximum amount of mana and at lower mana levels you accumulate mana faster. Anywho, lots of great changes here. I'll be installing right away and trying a game out.
~snip the global mana is really nice. however, i don't think linear generation with no limit is a good idea. first of all, running any summons or enchants in the long term cripples your stockpiling. every time you cast a spell you put yourself at a mana disadvantage to everyone else for the rest of the game. it encourages peole to save all their mana for a rainy day instead of actually using it. there is more discussion on this elsewhere

So, found something interesting... I just got to work and checked to see if the icon in the first picture was on my Win 7 machine. It wasn't. It also wasn't on one of my co-worker's computer. So its not a Stardock issue. So I guess you could say that it is operating normally. Thanks guys.

7 Replies 13,222 Views

Okay, let me partially take that back. It fixed the issue in the the last two pictures, but the issue in the first one is still there. So 2/3 of the way there... ;)

7 Replies 13,222 Views

Thanks for the responses. That fix doesn't work. After I uninstalled IP I checked for that registry key and it wasn't there. So then I reinstalled IP and the key is there but changing the name to IconHandlerX doesn't fix the issue.

I've been looking into buying Object Desktop for a long time and finally took the plunge a few weeks ago. I built a new computer and thought it would be fun to have a new desktop display. So I install Windows 7 Pro x64 and then install all the Windows 7 compatible Object Desktop programs. The new FX software is a lot of fun, and Windows blinds seems to work well. But then I noticed that exe icons were a little funny, AKA missing. Notice in the following pictures the white icon where there sho
~snip~ the immediate solution would be faster generation across the board, and a separate stat that determines the maximum amount of mana you can stockpile. but imho this is a crude solution. it works best to my mind if you regenerate mana along a non linear formula like this: Reduced 96%Original 621 x 255 where x is turns and y is mana. the equation is mana = max mana x (1 - e ^ (- game constant x turn number))<br /

I disagree very strongly that having tactical battles would detract from the game. I liked GC2 a lot, but I think it would have been a lot funner had their been a tactical battle option. MOO2 was one of my most favorite games ever and I have yet to find a space based game that does tactical battles like they did. Sure it always made more sense to fight than autoresolve, but I think that there is a way to have both in. If GC3 doesn't have tactical battles I don't know if I'll g

Its a fun game, but I have stopped playing it until patch 1.1 comes out. Then I'll fire it up again. I have faith that stardock will continue to improve the game. I'm just dissapointed that they didn't delay the release to work out some of the bugs. I feel that it hurt them in the long run. Hopefully they learned from that. Anywho, its a great game and its great news that Kael was hired as FFH was probably the best mod for CIV 4

The expansions for Gal Civ 2 are rather nice... I love the game, but really have to say I still liked MOO2 better because of tactical battles... It was so fun using strategy and tactical finesse to beat the computer in MOO2, I could have 20 ships and take out hundreds if I did it right. In Gal Civ, well it just wasn't quite as fun IMHO. Still a good game though. Sins is something I'd like to pick up sometime, I played the demo and enjoyed it, the whole space genre is one of my favorit

Hey Mriguy, have you tried out AI Wars yet. Sounds like something you might like as it isn't some simple run of the mill strategy and actually has a lot of depth to it. I just discovered it and am glad I did. Also not sure what you think about RPGs but King's Bounty is a fun RPG/Tactical Strategy game. I've been playing that a lot and having a blast. Back on track, 64bit would be great, but in all seriousness this game isn't so complex that it needs more than 2GBs. Most

This would be a nice feature. But in the meantime, I recommend trying dropbox. It is very easy to copy the files over to there and to make it really easy you could download SyncBack and sync the save game directory to dropbox... It'd be pretty easy to setup. Actually if I still had my laptop that is exactly what I would do... :)

Hmm, well I love NWN and I personally think the story is pretty good. Its not amazing but it is good. With all the mods NWN could keep you busy for years... I've heard NWN2 is rather nice too.. I personally like The Witcher, and I just finished Mass Effect which I liked... I've never been able to understand why/how people recommend Baldurs Gate and Diablo so much. I just don't like them. I don't like the interface, I don't like the combat and altough the story may be good I could neve

Well it is all a moot point because the program doesn't even do what I want... I'd like to be able to do what multiplicity does but also to be able to use the screen as an extended screen on the primary PC.. it doesn't seem to do that.

13 Replies 7,603 Views

Nope is just doesn't show up in services... Maybe this is just a trial version problem... Don't know. I checked in msconfig and it doesn't even show up in there either.

13 Replies 7,603 Views

Okay I've found out why this has been happening, sorta... For some reason the multiplicity service isn't starting like it should. MultiSrv32.exe should start up as a service but it hasn't been and thus the listening port isn't listening... Any ideas as to why that would be happening? I'm trying to set multiplicity up on another computer but I am having the same problem as before and now I see that it is because the service isn't starting.
