Many of the spells scale with the number of a particular shard type you own. I love that concept and how you have to tailor your strategies to which shards you've managed to capture. On the strategic map, if I'm casting a spell, I can look up at the status bar at the top of the screen and check how many shards I own of a particular type to figure out the spell effect. On the tactical screen, though, I'm often left guessing. I have two possible suggestions for addressing th

Several of the monsters that appear large and threatening on the strategic map, like obsidian collussi and fire elementals, look like tiny humanoids on the tactical map. It actually made me snicker when I attacked the apparently 3 story-tall collussus and found him to be about the size of a standard archer on the tactical map. With this lovely 3d engine, can the units that are supposed to large and dangerous please appear so on the tactical map?
It would be very handy if when an army is selected, it would show its current path, rather than just a highlight on its final destination. This would by useful to both know the path the AI has set for the army in case they're not going to go the way you want, and also useful for quickly finding an army's destination if it's on the other side of the world.
There needs to be a mechanism for targeting specific units within an army stack with a spell. At present, the top unit in the stack is automatically targeted. Please add a dialogue for multiple-unit army/stacks to allow specifying the target.
First of all, it's better then WoM. Much better, much more polished, much more fun. Thank you for taking the time to make this the game Elemental should have been. [BUG?] If you're running Windows 7 64-bit on a user, rather than administrator account, you have to run the game as an administrator. Otherwise, the game refuses to start with the error message that you're not logged in. Is this because the beta uses remote files and requires login?
I have to side with id. It feels perfect as-is to me at the moment.
I'm content with the decision to prioritize single-player with the available resources. Although I do play multiplayer games (Portal 2, Magicka, SOaSE), I've never found TBS strategy games to be a format that's friendly to the MP experience.
I'm a huge fan of SOTS. If you haven't played it, go buy that and enjoy. SOTS ][, unfortunately, was released in what I'd call early-beta condition. If you haven't already purchased it, I'd advise you to wait a couple months and buy it around Christmas. It certainly has the outlines of a good game, but it's still buggy and feature incomplete. OTOH, it you player SOTS prime and want to make sure Kerberos has the cash to finish the development of ][, go a
Sword of the Stars 2, although since I just discovered SOTS 1 a few months ago and am still discovering lots of new things with every playthrough, I'll likely wait until the first post-release patch before buying it. I do intend to check out Skyrim, but my playtime is very limited these days, so may not purchase.
The locusts are straightforward to deal with if you catch them when there are just one or two locust motherships. As they strip planets, thought, they reproduce, and if they start on the other side of the galaxy outside of your scouting range and strip a few planets before you realize they're there, though, they can be extremely difficult to fight off. You can get rid of them by setting randoms to 0% if you don't like the challenge. If you want to take them on, point d
I'm very hopeful that this is a really clever but cruel April Fool's joke. I detest Gamestop and their business practices. If they own Impulse I will uninstall it. If it's a joke. . . good one, you got me.
The list of possible traits to vote for is blank for me. Can anyone else see it? I'm on Firefox 4.0.

I'd like to see intelligence effect the number of spells you can cast per tactical turn . If channeled spells are implemented, intelligence should effect how quickly a spell can be channeled.
Is a fix for the zooming issue with some mice still planned eventually? If it's never going to be fixed, I'd love to know so I can go ahead and return the game since it's really difficult to play as long as this technical issue exists.
Still broken in the current 1.1 beta.
I'd rather see SoSE 2 (with a campaign!). Although I'd also be interested in an expansion if it had a campaign with a story line. SoSE has potentially fascinating lore.
Will the mouse zooming bug be fixed in 1.1? Inability to smoothly zoom seriously impairs my ability to enjoy playing the game.
Still not fixed as of 1.09e. Is this bug still slated to be fixed at some point?
Feedback on 1.09: Good: Faster combat magic animations are a dramatic improvement. More stable. Pacing is much improved. Bad: There still needs to be a mechanism for picking which character in a stack is the target of a strategic spell like imbue hero. Ideas: It would be nice to be able to see how much experience a hero has, how much they've gained in a battle, and how close they are t
Still an issue with 1.09 for me.
I'd really like to see those "currently building" bars for unit and structures displayed on the HUD above each city on the main display. I believe that would be far more useful than the currently displayed resource info on the city HUD.
Dubious Quality had the best comment on this , I think.
This thread had a lot of fantastic ideas in it (and some really bad or crazy ones), and still seems underused.
