As we have to wait 3 days more for Civ 5 here in Europe, I've only played the demo so far. And that is better, more polished and more entertaining than the full Elemental game was even with only the first 100 turns being playable.

You disagree with the answer, so now it's my fault for answering your question. If you don't want people answering your questions, don't ask them! Dude [e digicons]:|[/e]

I'm not going to bother defending Stardock's return policies; whether they have some hoops or not is really none of my concern. I can understand why some people want to get a refund. That's fine, go for it, get it, complain to their customer service or PM Brad (preferably without the death wishes) if you don't like whatever hoops that may or may not exist - and move on.&
It's just $50, and it's just a game.
Why not just refund those who want it if its "just 50$" ? I know its not a lot of money, but as a matter of principle it should be refunded to anyone that asks for it and without making them jump through hoops in order to get it.
Quoting JesperEB, reply 10 No, save your [$ 50] for when Civ V comes out later this month. That game is far more likely to have been tested and finished. I disagree. I regularly was on the Civ 4 forum when it came out : many users loudly complained because of a lot of bugs and broken features. Later on, I purchased the official sequel Civ 4 : Colonization (developed by the very same Firaxis, and produced by th
Well, this is exactly what I meant with 'jumpy'. At least in Germany the legal side of things is a little bit more differentiated. Here it says that the producer/manufacturer can improve his product three times. If you are still unhappy by then, then you get full refund. Naturally, this could be translated into 'three patches', but here I hope we'll be getting more than three patches. Hence, legally, it is my decision to give the manufacturer m

I think its an insult to the intelligence of the average customer to release a game in the state this game was released in. Seeing a rabid fanboy claim that anyone who didnt like the game must be a software pirate is even more insulting. And the refusal to offer full refunds to those of is that dont like to pay in order to beta test a product is the straw that breaks that camels back. Today I finally concluded a 1 week long "discussion" with Stardocks support and finall
I asked from the very beginning for a refund with the reason that the product is unfinished, and I referred to the Gamers Bill of Rights, as explained above. I'm not angry that the customer support employee is offering to help me work out any technical problems that prevent the game from running. Thats fine and would be much apreaciated if the main problem with the game was purely technical. Besides, angry is such a strong work. <b

Might I point out that most major publishers won't even give a partial refund unless you email their CEO or jump through 500 hoops? You're angry becuase in order to get a free refund they require confirmation in the form of "trying to help get it running on your system?"? Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state. This game is not finished. Not even close to it. But it would seem tha
I'm asking for a refund on Elemental, and am confident I will get it (considering SD's reputation on such matters).
Unfortunatly you will only get a 75% refund unless you are willing to go through a process of documenting specific tech problems, like game chrashes, along with details of your computer specs and so on. Refunds based the unfinished game content and lack of playtesting come with a 25% fine for the unhappy customer.

I've seen this a few times now. Most recently I was just playing a game yesterday where Kraxis kept swarming over my borders with huge amounts of troops and only the AI's stupidity allowed me to kill them with my much smaller army. Then I noticed something strange on the diplomacy screen when talking to Kraxis. He had around -68000 gildar! Suddenly it made a lot more sense that he just kept pumping out Sion troops non-stop in all his cities. He was simply following the
