I just reinstalled Elemental to check the new beta patch but neither 1.09 nor the new beta version starts. The launch window opens but after I click "Play Game" I only see a short black flash. Cannot even find a debug-file in the game folder, can't try out settings, because the game does not start at all. System: XP 32 Bit, 4 GB, Intel Quad 2 9600, ATI 5850 with 10.11 drivers, tried two different soundcards and different graphic settings (Vsync, AI etc.) (Sorry

It seems you can't install the 1.1 beta if you don't have the original game installed. Here is a solution I found. 1. Go to the Impulse Settings and disable "show pre-release version". Restart Impulse. 2. Install Elemental (it's the old version). Switch "show pre-realase versions" on again. Restart Impulse. 3. Thanks for the great review. I played Fantasy General a lot (still have the box) and would really like to try King Arthur. The problem is that Ubisoft has the rights for the German market and for that reason Steam blocked it for Austria. Switzerland and Germany. Are there any other distributors that sell King Arthur?

Elven Legacy is a (indeed very hard) sequel to Fantasy Wars. Fantasy Wars itself is a brilliant remake of the classic "Fantasy General" by SSI. It was some kind of fantasy version of their Panzer General series. It has got a lot of tactical depth, like chess. If you like turn based tactical games, this serial is great. I recommend starting with Fantasy Wars though because its much easier. If the game is worth your time depends on what you would spend it otherwise
