Cannot play game, validation SID ??????? in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

I had to reinstall my windows a month ago and when I tried to reinstall GC2, it gave me a mesage as such... "the product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID dont match" Ok, so instead of emailing here I thought to just buy another copy and support the company cause I love the game...well, after installing that new copy.. I still get the same message... ok, now what? someone please help. Thank you.
