I find myself actually agreeing with the OP. The engine, performance, graphics and sound are all good. The design choices that have been made do not lead up to a game that is suited to my tastes. The one redeeming factor is the ability to mod. Therefore I still think this game is a succes, I won´t be playing vanilla but somewhere down the line someone will make a mod that I like (hopefully something very near to MOM) and then

@ Owl208 Even sweeter, we could summon arguably the most powerful Champion in the game, good old Torin the Chosen. Heck, he even had his own spell and every player in the game could possibly get him because he wasn't attached to a particular spellbook flavor. I’m an experienced strategy gamer, I started with civ 1 when I was 13 or something. I played and conquest won one sandbox game (AArgh the choppiness) but besides the performance issues on my PC that plays other games just fine, and the oblivious AI…. I quite easily got the hang of the food, resources, growing, magic, building, tech, spell research play style…. But someone new to the 4x genre should have something like an ingame tutorial I suppose.

I'm stoked too!! To pass the time i'm playing MOM on dosbox. But what is the use of pre-ordering? As I just want to download the digital version I might as well just order it on the 24th right?
