Hmm, looks like a very interesting game. But yea, I wouldn't pay that much in advance for something I wasn't sure about, plus only having a digital copy at the end of the day. I don't tend to pay that much for new games in a DVD case. It might not mean much to Stardock, but I like to being physically able to see what I own. I don't find the incentive of helping to shape a game during the beta enough either. I'd rather pay full whack for a game that when released was good in the first place,

Of course, if you really don't want to destroy an opponent's starbase, the existing and fair option is always there for you to barter for it. Even if you do need to hand over 14 of your 15 planets and all the football trading cards in your empire. Anyway as to my idea, I'm suggesting you still need some kind of battle going on before attempting to capture the station. A fully operational station will shoot to kill before handing over control. It should be a costly and tricky precedur

Hmm, it's a pity combat options are so limited with Galciv2. Master of Orion 2 was great fun with all its different weapons and devices that could stun enemy craft, reflect weapon fire back, and transport troops to the enemy ships and starbases etc. Ideally with GC2 you could capture a starbase during battle instead of just pummelling it with weapons fire. You'd have other ships knock out the starbases defences, then move in with the attack transporter, dock, then have the automated battle ou

Hmm, this is what has happened in my save game. I was far too powerful for the remaining civs, and forced one to offer me planets in return for peace. The game crashed the next turn or two afterwards. I loaded up my last save and managed to successfully negotiate again without the crash, but when I took all but one tiny PQ3 planet from another race for peace, the game crashes at the end of the turn everytime. As I controlled 97% of the world by then, I just gave up. It's definitely the plane

You could make a moderately high tech device (Ie, something you can't research for quite a while) that gives a construction pod/device to Starbases that could after a couple of upgrades with Constructors, allow the starbase to build upgrades itself. But it would have to be a limited amount of construction ability, or expensive, or it could become too easy to build up a massive network of mega-upgraded starbases. Currently it is a bit of a chore updating them, but you always have limited resour

I get the scrolling bug too. The screen starts moving to the right where at best I can move my mouse over to the left edge and attempt to stop the movement, but as soon as I let go of the mouse, the screen keeps moving to the bottom right corner and then shakes uncontrollably. I think it seems to happen if I zoom out using the scroll wheel whilst simultaneously moving my mouse cursor to the edge of the screen. I'm not sure if that's the exact cause, but I know the zooming out always plays som

Why can't we vote for the Terran Alliance? Those pesky humans have been causing trouble for far too long, it's about time their entire race was exterminated. I shall return to my underground kingdom and refuse to wash under my nine armpits until they are amongst the races up for the chop. Lets see how you like that when my BO starts to accumulate!
